Pompeii...Buried Alive! (Step-Into-Reading, Step 4)6 reviews
Edith Kunhardt Davis

Random House Books for Young Readers, 1987

Makes you feel like you're there
As a 2nd grade teacher, I've been sharing this book with my students for about 2 years now. It keeps any group mesmorized! The best part about it is the way it makes kids understand that the people of Pompeii were just regular people going about their daily routines when Vesuvius erupted. They especially feel a connection with the little boy Pliny who watched the eruption from across the ...

Pat the Christmas Bunny2 reviews

Golden Books, 2001

A luke warm adaptation--not as good as it could be...
First let me say that I am a Pat the Bunny fan. We bought Pat the Christmas Bunny for our daughter last Christmas because she liked the regular Pat the Bunny book so well. Unfortunately, after two Christmas seasons, I've concluded that this book lacks the charm of the original-- she never reaches for it and frequently loses interest in the middle of a reading. One point of criticism is that ...

Judy's Flower Bed (Bunny's Playdate)26 reviews

Golden Books, 2005

One of my favorite Little Critters!
And we have a lot of them :) They're short, they're funny, they're topical, and they're cheap. Little Critter in this one keeps improving his nighttime routine by playing make-believe. And his dad, patient man, plays along with his make believe while moving Little Critter along to the next stage to sleep. Eventually, it goes too far and his parents just put him in bed - but they still tuck ...

Daddy's Scratchy Face (Bunny's Playdate)14 reviews

Golden Books, 2005

Great Books
My 3-year old LOVES all of the Mercer Mayer books. She especially likes All by myself, Me too and Just go to bed. She's fascinated with the characters and notices the little mouse following the critters around on each page. She loves to fill in the blanks and try to tell the story by herself. We have lots of books, but she always seems to pick these over other stories.

Tickle the Pig (Touch-and-Feel)6 reviews

Golden Books, 2001

My one year old LOVES Tickle the Pig
My one year old absolutely loves "Tickle the Pig". He not only loves to sit on my lap as I read it, touching everything in sight; he will sit on the floor and play with it by himself longer than any other toy or book. He just doesn't get tired of that sweet little pig!

Daddy's Scratchy Face (Bunny's Playdate)1 review

Golden Books, 2005

NoT Touch and Feel! ~~VERY~~ DISAPPOINTING
Golden may as well stop publishing this one. I ordered it because I thought it was the touch and feel book, when I received it, I was so disappointed to find out it was not. Not to mention, that version is NO LONGER IN PRINT. Don't waste your money, the only great thing about this book was that the face was scratchy, you could put your finger in daddy's ring and you coujld look in the mirror. ...

Pat the Cat (Touch-and-Feel)6 reviews

Golden Books, 1998

My little one loves it
Okay, *I* may think it's boring and *you* may think it's boring, but my child ... loves this little book. It is frequently the one he chooses to have read to him, perhaps because each page is interactive. One, of course, must pat the cat. Then you can extract money from the ATM and later put it into daddy's wallet. You can imitate mommy making a list, scratch and sniff the gingersnaps, help ...

pat the bunny touch and play cards (Touch & Play Cards)1 review

Golden Books, 1999

Truly a classic
Unless someone has changed the inside of this book, it is the same I had when I was very small, 60 years ago. It may well have been one of the first interactive books for toddlers. It has a mirror to look in, Daddy's scratchy face to feel, the bunny to pat, and I've forgotten what else. I would hate to even guess how many times our copy of that book was read. It lasted through us three girls and ...
