This book is in regular latin letters. In addition to not teaching you proper spelling, it is hard to approximate proper pronounciation when using a non-native alphabet. This is a really great book! I borrowed it from the local library. I have used the book while at home and during breaks at work. The tape is great for time spent on the road. A Very Good Buy - but not one-day!
I must admit I rather pooh-poohed this item when I went into the bookshop to buy a Polish CD course, and I opted for the full 'Teach Yourself Polish', which I then found much too difficult, too fast (check out the reviews for this course). So I went back to the bookshop and bought 'One-Day Polish'.
And I am so glad I did!
Ignore the 'one-day' bit, of course, but within a week together ...

Very little learning goes a long way
Learn to carry out really basic conversations from day 1! I bought it one day before I embarked on a trip to Japan. It helped me to get around in some basic situations. I picked it up again in my second trip to Japan and it reinforced my learning and more. It's not another boring learning device that you would shy away in less than a week. Very little learning and money can go a long way!
