John and Elizabeth, Brother Andrew Sherrill

Chosen Books, 2001

Daring!!! Adventure!!! Risk!!! Christian?
This is an outstanding Christian autobiography. I literally could not put it down. I couldn't even hear my family speak my name while I was engrossed in its pages. This is the true story of Brother Andrew who is well known for smuggling bibles to beleaguered Christians behind the Iron Curtain. The story began with his childhood in Holland. His taste for daring and adventure showed up while he ...

Truly inspiring - a must read!
This is the true story of Brother Andrew and his work in smuggling Bibles to those Christians oppressed by communism. There are many moments of miraculous interventions by God and Brother Andrew's touchingly transparent story will bring a tear to your eye and inspire you to appreaciate the freedoms we have and to help those who do not, even if only in prayer. This is one book that will not ...

The Hiding Place (Corrie Ten Boom Library)189 reviews
Corrie Ten Boom, John Sherrill, ...

Chosen Books, 1996

Happy with the quality of the book
This book is beautiful inside and out. The outside is burgundy leather? bound with gold stamped letters. Very classic looking. The story itself is so well written, Corrie ten Boom draws you into her family. To hear how God worked miracles in spite of German occupation and concentration camps, and the lack of money and resources, was very faith building. I highly recommend this book.

Demos Shakarian

Chosen Books, 1975

God still wants to work in lives of ordinary people.
The Demos Shakarian story is about God's presence in our lives, and the miracles He will perform when we let Him, when we're willing to get out of the way to let Him take over. Mr. Shakarian's story is about a loving God and a loving son, whose heart wants to be in his Father's perfect will, but being human, forgets, and gets in the way. And God waits until he figures that out, steps back, and ...

Cross & the Switchblade
This Book changed my life when I read it in jail in summer of 1970,after the hippie years of many many drugs and all that went along with it.I would surely be dead now if not for this book and the Lord Jesus who caused David Wilkerson to write it.Jail was the only place I would have stopped to read it at the time.So I am sure the Lord wanted me there then.I have been reformed since that day.I ...

Return from Tomorrow71 reviews
George G. Ritchie, Elizabeth Sherrill

fast reading book
I was originally loaned this book by a friend who made great claims about it. I was hesitant because most of us have heard the experiences of those with near or real death and then come back to tell about it. One day I picked up the book and starting skimming through it to the part where the death experience occurs, I couldn't put it down! its totally different than all the others I've heard ...

A story of unwavering faith in the face of persecution and Nazi tyranny
The Hiding Place is the moving true-life account of Corrie ten Boom and her family who sheltered persecuted Jews in Nazi-oocupied Holland during World War Two. They did this at great personal risk, but they did it because of their unwavering faith in God, and because it was the right thing to do. Unfortunately, they are arrested and deported to the camps for their acts of resistance against ...

Revealing
This book came to me through the mail. I was expecting it but not what was in it. I started reading it and I couldn't put it down. All the Way to Heaven: A Surprising Faith Journey8 reviews
Elizabeth Sherrill

Revell, 2002

goes all the way
Elizabeth Sherrill goes all the way to the truth and to Jesus in her autobiography. She never faulters in the truth about herself and the people who have been meaningful during her life, yet writes without rancor showing that Jesus has brought healing and reconciliation where her "dragons" are concerned. This was one of those great reads where I tried to sneak in 10 minutes here and there ...
