World of Psychology: Portable Edition, The6 reviews
Samuel E. Wood, Ellen Green Wood, ...

Allyn & Bacon, 2006

Great for Intro Psych
I bought my book used, without the online access code since it can only be used once. However, if you don't need the online access code, it's really a great book that explains everything well. I have no complaints about the book itself, the problem isn't the book, it's the seller. Make sure you know if you're getting a usable code if you are buying this book used. Otherwise, don't buy it. ...

World Regional Geography: A Development Approach, Eighth Edition3 reviews

As a text
The general feel of this book is dark and dull. Graphics are oddly benign, upside, the Geography in Action sections offer realistic insight into Geographic concepts. Clawson and Fisher tried.

The American Woman's Garden1 review
Rosemary Verey, Ellen Samuels

New York Graphic Society, 1984

Classic Gardens This Side of the Pond
Gardens?! In America?! Documented by an Englishwoman?! Rosemary Verey has American women tell how their gardens got the way they did. Some enlarging inherited ones, some starting with bare dirt, some restarting with dismay after a disaster with weather, or life events. Good photos as well. Ms Verey's other books are well worth reading, both as how-to-do-it, and gee-whiz photos.

The Bohemians of the Latin Quarter2 reviews
Henri Murger

University of Pennsylvania Press, 2004

The hilarious source material for RENT...
Truly one of the funniest novels I've ever read -- THIS is the source material for the rock musical RENT, much more so than the opera is. Anyone who loves RENT should read this incredibly contemporary feeling novel about a bunch of selfish, self-involved, self-important artist friends who run roughshod over the rest of the world. Though there are serious, more emotional scenes, much of the novel ...

The Citrus College Edition of the World of Psychology6 reviews
Samuel E. Wood, Ellen Green Wood, ...

Allyn & Bacon, 2001

Great Book
I had to use this book for my intro to psychology class. I planned on just skimming it to find the answeres, but I ended up reading it all. It is a great book with great stories. It is easy of follow and the definition of new words are listed on the side of the page, not in the back of the book like most textbooks. Great Book!

Cherokee Outlet Cowboy: Recollections of Laban S. Records1 review
Laban Samuel Records

University of Oklahoma Press, 1995

Life of a cowboy
Very late in his life Laban Records decided to sit down and put to paper his recollections of his days as a Kansas cowboy some fifty years earlier. When he was done he had compiled about a thousand handwritten notebook pages of material that was then passed down through his family. Laban's son saw that parts of it were published in the "Chronicles of Oklahoma," but it wasn't until his ...

Challenging the State: Crisis and Innovation in Latin America and Africa (Cambridge Studies in Comparative ...
Merilee S. Grindle

Cambridge University Press, 1996

The 1980s and 1990s posed great challenges to governments in Latin America and Africa deeply affected by economic and political crises that weakened their ability to encourage economic development and provide for effective governance. Using case studies of Mexico and Kenya this book shows how a decade of deep and sustained crisis also became a decade of innovations in ideas, policy directions, political coalitions, and government institutions. ...
