Surfer of the Century: The Life of Duke Kahanamoku5 reviews
Ellie Crowe

Lee & Low Books, 2007

Inspiring story and illustrations
This (true) story is an inspiration to adults and children, alike. And it is beautifully illustrated to boot. I found the book on a trip to Hawaii and fell in love with the images. I was familiar with Duke Kahanamoku, but not with all the details of his life. I was therefore pleased to learn so much from this story, aimed at children. Well written. My friends' kids loved it. I bought two copies ...

stunningly beautiful
This book is so wonderful! The artwork is gorgeous. And it is interesting because it is a true story. With the beautiful writing and stunning artwork, the effect is magical. It's also exciting for boys, because it has some action scenes. I love when my son requests I read it to him. It is an unusual and beautiful book.

Little Princess Ka'iulani1 review
Ellie Crowe

Island Heritage Publishing, 1999

Magical
This book is so magical! Every little girl should have this book! It is about the last princess of Hawaii and her childhood growing up in Waikiki. She had a fascinating life, and was quite spoiled- her father bought her peacocks for their grounds just because she liked them! It's a short book- perfect for little girls- with the most gorgeous illustrations. My son liked to read this book when we ...

Rainforest Touch-n-See Hawaii1 review
Illustrated by Yuko Green Ellie Crowe

Island Heritage Publishing, 2005

Something besides farm animals!
Like Seashore Touch n See Hawaii, this book is a wonderful version of the touch and say books! Finally, my son and I can touch and say other animals besides cats, dogs, zoo, and farm animals! My son recieved this book as a gift from Grandma when she came home from Hawaii. The handle makes it easy for him to carry around with him, and he often chooses it out of the MANY other books he has. A ...

The Boy Who Tricked Ghosts1 review
Ellie Crowe

Island Heritage, 2003

Boys love this book!
This is the kind of book that boys love- lots of gross stuff, and scary! The paintings are wonderful- colorful, and the ghosts look so scary! Grade-school boys will love this book. Also, it's interesting because the tale is an ancient Hawaiian tale. It's a very unusual and beautiful book.

We have this book on our coffee table and everyone always comments on how beautiful it is. The photos are amazing- bright and clear, and take you back to vacation days in Hawaii...aaaah. Seashore Touch-n-See Hawaii2 reviews
Ellie Crowe

Island Heritage Publishing, 2004

Nice textures
This book is fun for toddlers because they can hold it in the little arch. And it has some really nice textures to feel. I love the slippery gecko! It's a fun book, and much more unusual than most of the other touch and feel books out there.
