Another homerun for baseball writer Fran Zimnuich!
"A must read for all baseball fans! Fran Zimniuch captures the facinating journey of America's game and the history of the baseball trade before free agency and block buster deals. He takes a revealing look at some of the games biggest transactions - the good and the bad, yesterday and today. "SEASONS"- TOO SHORT
While I greatly enjoyed "SHORTENED SEASONS", I read it at one sitting. Though some of the players' ends (such as Munson, Clemente and Chapman etc.) have already been extensively reported on, I found the inclusion of those on the other side of the scale (such as the one-gamers) novel and entertaining. Richie Ashburn Remembered
I just finished reading this lovely tribute to Richie Ashburn. I can remember him so well. My Pop used to listen to the Phillies on the radio before there was tv. So I grew up with the Phillies and he was one of the best and most endearing characters ever. Fran did a great job of capturing his great character and personality. He was truly one of a kind. Good job Fran!

Thanks again, Mr. Zimniuch!!!
Just as he did in, "Phillies, Where have you gone?", Mr. Zimniuch has done a marvelous job of researching the post-Eagles careers of many beloved Eagles players. As a long-time Philly fan, I've enjoyed reading his entire series of books.

Mr. Zimniuch hits a home run in my book!!!
As a long time Phillies fan, I've often wondered what happened to many of my favorite players from years past. Mr. Zimniuch did a wonderful job of researching the post-Phillies careers of so many beloved Phillies players. I'd definitely recommend this book to any Phillies fan.
