Not What I Expected
Since I ordered this book through Focus on the Family, I was really expecting something with some substance & in keeping with my moral & spiritual values. So I was very surprised with the light, fluffy, over-simplified approach to this very difficult topic. It might be helpful for military spouses or others faced with temporary separation, if they already have a good relationship with their ...

The best mathematical reference I have ever found!
This book is a relatively thick paperback. Yet it includes within its pages every formula I have ever needed along with precise definitions of the formulas and diagrams of the formulae. I have found it especially useful as I went through college. I found it contained everything from Algebraic formulae to Integral and matrix formulae. (This is as far as I went so I am unsure what is beyond and ...

Excellent reference book, good reading
This is quite the best specialist dictionary for collectors and dealers, and for translators like myself, checking that the English expression means what we hope. But there is a danger. Look up one expression and you find yourself reading several other entries as well, just for the fun of it. A most entertaining and erudite work. I know of nothing else to match it.

EXCELLENT BOOK!
This is an excellent book for long distance parenting ideas. Some are rather generic, but you can build on those to make them even more special. I recommend this book to any parent who is away or going to be away from their children for any length of time at all. I was so impressed that I used this as a recommended book of the week in my [...] newsletter [...]!
Fables In Slang (1906)

appreciating george ade
The first thing you have to tackle with this book is the title, since these stories are not fables and there is little "slang". Ade was not a fantasist. These are very short, realistic, and sometimes very funny stories. He called them fables because they all have a moral, but the moral is ironic, meant to underline the hypocracy and narrow vision of small town mid-west America in the turn of ...

PREFACE THE present volume is not a record of original work, nor is it a text-book for the laboratory. Theoretical and practical text-books of Bacteriology plentifully exist both in England and America. There are two large works widely used, one by Professor Crookshank, entitled Bacteriology and Infective Diseases, the other by Dr. Sternberg, A Manualof Bacteriology. There are also, in English, a number of smaller works by Abbott, Ball, Hewlett, ...
