The Opera Journeys Mini Guide Series is just wonderful; it's like a "Cliff Note" of the opera, and extremely informative and educational. As a singer, I have to purchase many vocal scores. As scores go, this one is pretty sturdy, though I haven't done anything serious to it yet, and I've only had it for a month. This score, like many, is ridden with errors. There's very little space to write, and the Ricordi score though more expensive, is a better investment.

Great way to learn Italian or English!
There is a one page intro in English, but every part, including the operas, is in both Italian and English, conveniently in columns right next to each other. I assume this is similar to the Schirman edition, but I don't have that one.
