The Bookstore Mouse 5 reviews Peggy Christian
Harcourt Paperbacks, 2002
An amusing short book When I first picked up The Bookstore Mouse I was thinking "gee, another new library book, maybe this will provide about an hour of reading," but when I opened the book at home I got more than I had bargained for. I became entoiled in the affairs of a mouse and a wanna be knight. The way the book was written was original, the mouse knowing that he was reading and the knight and the way they use ...

The Fantasy Illustrator's Technique Book: From Creating Characters to Selling Your Work, Learn the Skills of ... 7 reviews Gary A. Lippincott
David & Charles PLC, 2007
A Fine Book for the Young Artist This is a light-hearted, profusely illustrated book on the making of fantasy art, with a nice gallery of other artist's works in the back.
It is, though, not necessarily a book for present illustrators looking to get into the fantasy market; it is really more for a young person just starting out. Artists who are further along with fundamental skills in drawing and painting would benefit more ...

The Involuntary Human 2 reviews David Gerrold
Nesfa Pr, 2007
Blood, fire and the involuntary human On my weekly, traditional browse through Galaxy Bookshop (Sydney, Australia), I swung past the "G" section to check out if David Gerrold's latest "War of the Chtorr" title was out yet. I was surprised to see a 477 pp hardcover omnibus, "The Involuntary Human" - and even more surprised to see that this book publishes the complete text of Gerrold's controversial (and axed) "Star Trek: The Next ...

Jeremy Thatcher, Dragon Hatcher: A Magic Shop Book 78 reviews Bruce Coville
Magic Carpet Books, 2007
Great Book Fun to Read My daughter read this book recently as an AR (Advanced Reader) Book. She loved the book and couldn't put it down. She would have to tell me all the things that were happening as she read it. This is a Level 4.9 AR book and is great for challenging a 3rd grader who is a very good reader. I would highly recommend this book.

The Vampire's Beautiful Daughter 3 reviews S.P. Somtow
Atheneum, 1997
A Great love Story with a modern gothic twist I thought The Vampire's Beautiful Daughter was an excellent book. I picked it up and read it all the way through without stopping. It's about a boy who moves to a new town and has to go to a different school. He meets. well, a half-vampire. He falls in love with her and screws up her choice to stay half human or become a full vampire. You'll have to read it to find out the details, but I ...

Caesar Rodney's Ride: The Story of an American Patriot 1 review Jan Cheripko
Boyds Mills Press, 2004
A COURAGEOUS RIDE FOR FREEDOM There are surely many heroes in our America's history. Caesar Rodney, though perhaps little known, is remarkable for his tenacity and courage. It was 1776. A vote was taking place in Philadelphia that would determine America's future: delegates to the Second Continental congress were soon to cast votes for or against independence. Against meant safety but continued unfair taxation imposed by ...

The Fisherman and His Wife 1 review I. M. Richardson
Troll Communications, 1988
Classic retelling of an old fable The fisherman and his wife can take any number of retellings and some are better than others. The story is a great parable about greed and the misuse of power and appeals to many age groups. I would like a few more versions of it to add to my collection.
