I'm taking a precalc class that uses this text as a refresher before beginning an undergraduate degree in Physics. In the early 90' I'd taken Algebra, Statistics, Precalc, and even a few Calculus classes (over 10 math classes in all). Out of all the math texts I've used, this is by far the worst. Had to send this one back to AMAZON because the textbook was previously opened and was lacking a student suppliment that the books in the student bookstore had. This supplimental access code gives you access to a website for a student math lab (that you have to register for via your instructor)....and is pretty darn good. I own four text books by Hornsby and Lial. Their books have been the colleges choice for two courses I've taken and my choice as a reference and backup to the other courses I've had. Precalculus book with minor imperfections!
This textbook is one excellent aid for understanding math. The trigonometry section is the best part of the book. It is mostly self explanatory, and being that trig is one hard topic to understand, the book breaks it down to a comprehensible level.
