Another step into the mystery of brain-based education.
Once again the Caines challenge us to look at education through new eyes ‹ the eyes of brain-based theory. The Caines are marvelous summarizers and practicioners of what they learn. Their work with the schools in California continues to advance the information and method we need to explore and install brain-based education in our lives and our schools. Congratulations on this next step. Follow ...

MindShifts may be resisted by "old paradigm" thinkers.
This book provides a logical organization for the large body of complex, education-relevant data currently emerging from neuroscience. The authors introduce the book with words attributed to Einstein: "No problem can be solved from the same consciousness that created it. We must learn to see the world anew." The authors predicate their work on the assumption that Cartesian and Behaviorist ...

Cutting-edge mind/brain information
Caine, Caine, and friends have succeeded again, with their new, effectively written book about brain/mind principles. Their earlier book, "Making Connections," is a primer about how the brain learns best. In this new book the authors delineate each of the 12 learning principles in a way that any teacher can use and benefit from. I recommend this book highly as an addition to professional ...

Brilliant
I agree with the reviewer above. These three books are of a much higher quality than one expects. The age old myths of vampires, werewolves and zombies are dragged screaming into the nineties. This kind of talent reminds me of Brent Monahan. Someone please get this guy to write more.

Teaching for compliance or for self-efficacy?
Through examining and categorizing teaching techniques as presented in a diversity of teacher interviews, the Caines continue their pursuit of understanding and maximizing the potential of brain-based learning. They draw distintions between the all too prevalent practices which lead to downshifting, a kind of brain function regression, in contrast to the conditions a teacher can provide which ...
