The Stars for a Light (Cheney Duvall, M. D., Book 1)10 reviews
Lynn Morris, Gilbert Morris

Bethany House, 1994

Exceptional Writing
I read this book years ago and am currently reading the followup series, Cheney and Shiloh: The Inheritance. Personally, I enjoyed this series (and still do) about the same time I was fascinated with Dr. Quinn: Medicine Woman. Apparently I enjoy women doctors in the 19th century...??? Anyhow, this is a wonderful series, not only exceptionally stating the strength of a woman, but Godly views ...

Around the River's Bend (The Spirit of Appalachia Series #5)2 reviews
Gilbert Morris, Aaron McCarver

Bethany House Publishers, 2002

Not what I expected
This final book of a great series was not anything like I expected. The first part of the book doesn't even take place in Appalachia, and key characters from previous books aren't even mentioned. It is still an uplifting story, but I felt that the final book could have been much better.

Shadow of the Mountains (Cheney Duvall, MD #2)9 reviews
Lynn Morris, Gilbert Morris

Bethany House, 1994

well done, but no progress made between Shiloh and Cheney
This book was very well written, but if your hoping that Cheney and Shiloh's relationship will actually progress in the second book, think again!! Actually only a tiny amount of progress is made in any of the books. I definitely got the feeling that the authors were dragging the relationship out in order to keep the readers coming back. After reading the second book, you feel like you're ...

There is a Season (Cheney & Shiloh: The Inheritance #3)5 reviews
Lynn Morris, Gilbert Morris

Bethany House, 2005

Great new book in the series
For those of you who have read and loved all of the "Cheney Duvall, MD" books and the "Cheney & Shiloh: The Inheritance" books, you will not be disappointed with this continuation in the series. I could hardly put it down until I finished reading it! The great things about this book are the same in the rest: the author has a gift for description, from the character's attire, post-Civil War ...

Island of the Innocent (Cheney Duvall, M.D. Series #7)57 reviews
Lynn Morris, Gilbert Morris

Bethany House, 1998

10 Star Wonder
Along with the first book, I think this is my favorite! Lynn and Gilbert really outdid themselves this time. The dialogue is great (they crack me up sometimes) and the book is filled with suspense. About halfway through the book I got so engrossed I could barely put the book down to eat and sleep!!!! I immediately started reading book #8. Cheney and Shiloh are so sweet and funny together. I ...

Lynn Morris, Gilbert Morris

Bethany House, 2001

Encouragement by the best
I have read all of the Cheney Duvall series up until now, following each one with late nights as I can't put the book down. As we start the new series with the Irons-Winslow family, I'm excited about the new marriage and the new family that has been begun. I have read other of Gilbert Morris' books, and have loved each one. For those not interested in history, this is a great way to learn while ...

In the Twilight, in the Evening (Cheney Duvall, M.D. Series #6)10 reviews
Lynn Morris, Gilbert Morris

Bethany House Publishers, 1997

Can't wait!
This is a really good book. with each of the Cheney books, you think you can't get any more climatic, then suddenly You are suprised and left gasping for breath! Book six is taking the cake. can't wait, can't wait! out of the series, Book six isn't my favorite. but it is absolutely necessary background for continuing the series. So much happens with Cheney, and With Shiloh. It's one more step ...

Very Good
I have read all of the books in this series. I read them all a couple years ago but I enjoyed every single one. This series and the Bonnnets and Bugles Series were my favorite books from childhood. A Conspiracy of Ravens (Lady Trent Mystery Series #2)1 review
Gilbert Morris

Thomas Nelson, 2008

Excellent mystery
I really enjoyed this book. I liked the setting and the characters. The style seems a little different than some of his other books. God is real in some of the people's lives and some do not follow him, the way it is in real life.

Toward the Sunrising (Cheney Duvall, M.D. Series #4)3 reviews
Lynn Morris, Gilbert Morris

Five Star (ME), 1998

Excellent all the way!
The entire Cheney Duvall Series is excellent reading. This book in particular was fun. The characters had a good time, and yet it was unpredictable as always. I especially enjoyed the historical element of our nations history that is wrapped up in this book. I couldn't put it down. The characters will "own" you.

Honorable Imposter (The House of Winslow #1)16 reviews
Gilbert Morris

Sagebrush, 2004

This is a great book...
This is a remarkable story. It is full of history and I learned a lot about the ways of life of the puritans from reading it. You will meet the characters you find in your history books in a way you never knew them before! I read it very quickly because the characters were so well developed and the plot exciting. The romance was wonderful, but this isn't a romance novel so it wasn't overdone. ...

The Cat's Pajamas (Jacques and Cleo, Cat Detectives, No. 2)6 reviews
Gilbert Morris

Harvest House Publishers, 2007

Cat's Pajamas
Since I started reading cat mysteries about three years ago Mr. Morris's series was a delighful surprise. I started with Liian Jackson Braun (The Cat Who...I loved them), followed by Rita Mae Brown series (Mrs. Murphy and The Hunt series)(which I loved) followed by the Joe Cat Mysteries and then I discovered I had read all of the books published by these three authors. Gilbert Morris's series ...
