Even More Incredible!!!
What's even more incredible about this book than the first "Philadelphia Murals" - is that they found even more spectacular murals - enough to fill a second book!!! And the stories that go with these murals are as heart-felt as the murals themselves!!! Treat yourself to this book - well, both books - it is a present you won't ever regret!!! I wish I could buy them for you - I wish I had ...

Hellebores (Wisley Handbooks)2 reviews
Graham Rice

Mitchell Beazley, 2008

Wonderful, compulsively readable - the bible of hellebores!
Hellebores are some of the best perennial flowers, blooming especially in the dead of winter, and easy to grow, but American gardeners don't seem to know much about them. Here's the best book on the subject, by wellknown garden writer Graham Rice and plantswoman Liz Strangman, who celebrate an extraordinary variety of types and species. Beautifully-illustrated (with many excellent group shots ...

Philadelphia Murals and the Stories They Tell5 reviews
Jane Golden, Robin Rice, ...

Temple University Press, 2002

Wow! I didn't know Philadelphia had so many murals!
What a surprise I had in learning that Philadelphia, a city I've lived in for over ten years, has over 2,000 murals. And,in this book, they are beautifully displayed (well, not all 2000) and discussed. I learned about the artists who created the murals, the communities where the murals are, and just lots of interesting details about the mural arts program in Philadelphia--the most prolific in ...

Garden Flowers from Seed1 review
Christopher Lloyd, Graham Rice

Timber Press, Incorporated, 1994

A great chat from two british master gardeners.
I'm not a flower gardener but this book is quite unusual. Two british gardeners handle each species of flowers they have experience with, trading sentences in a dialog. The photos are just OK, but because the text is genuine experienced gardeners chatting, it makes a conversation worth getting close enough to hear. A 1994 book, but worth buying as if new, master talk worth reading.

The Sweet Pea Book3 reviews
Graham Rice

Timber Press, Incorporated, 2003

A beautiful find
British author, Graham Rice has written 20 books on gardening subjects and is also a weekly columnist for London's "Evening Standard" newspaper. "The Sweet Pea Book" is a joy to read, and the photographs by judywhite (wife of Graham Rice) are among the finest I've seen in any book on horticulture. In Victorian times, the sweet pea was considered 'the queen of the annuals' but its popularity ...

Graham Rice

Hamlyn, 2008

Lots of original and practical ideas
This book is full of ideas for small gardens while keeping in mind the practical considerations this lack of space entails. I especially appreciated the section where the author defines the various types of small gardens.
