Journey of Adulthood, The (5th Edition)3 reviews
Helen L. Bee, Barbara R. Bjorklund

Prentice Hall, 2003

Increasing understanding of Aging
Hellen Bee is able to carry one through the years of adulthood through many avenues. Using scientific studies she interprets the data in meaningful ways. Inclusion of personal accounts and her conversational style make the reading interesting. The book continually ties previous ideas to new concepts giving a nice continuity. I especially enjoyed her occasional insertions of the not-so-scientific ...

The Developing Child, 10th Edition3 reviews
Helen L. Bee, Denise Roberts Boyd

Allyn & Bacon, 2003

It's Getting Better...Even after 11 Editions.
Well-written and unique among child development books. Bee & Roberts do it again by updating this text with information (i.e. the Theories of the Mind section) that you won't find in many other competitors. Rosiland Childworth's CHILD DEVELOPMENT and Jeffrey Trawick-Smith's EARLY CHILD DEVELOPMENT are excellent texts if you can't get this one...but this one does a more thorough job of ...

Harpercollins College Div, 1994

Excellent text
I have taught (and taken) courses in Child Development and Lifespan Development with numerous textbooks, and this was definitely my favorite. The text is exceptionally thorough and includes a balance of theory and application. Relevant research is discussed throughout, in a way that is interesting and engaging and emphasizes the importance of scientific rigor in studying development. Most of ...

The Growing Child: An Applied Approach (2nd Edition)1 review
Helen L. Bee

Addison Wesley Publishing Company, 1999

Everything you ever wanted to know about child development
One of the top-selling authors of child development texts, Helen Bee has done it again with her latest text. In contrast to many textbook authors, Bee is noted for her first-person approach in writing. She fills the book with personal anecdotes to accompany a very well referenced work. Student friendly would be my assessment. Tom Batsis School of Education Loyola Marymount University
