Fans of The Spiderwick Chronicles will be thrilled to discover this brand-new cycle of the New York Times bestselling series
Nicholas Vargas is not at all happy about having a new stepsister, especially since Laurie is now in his bedroom and he is sharing a room with his aloof older brother, Julian. He is not amused when Laurie suggests that they search outside for faeries, which (of course) he does not believe in. Imagine his shock when he comes across a type of faery called a nixie. This particular nixie is in ...

Spiderwick Chronicles - boxed set of 5 books
After we watched the movie, my daughter wondered why there needed to be a field guide for so few mythological creatures. She was right!!! The movie cut out so many main elements and characters, that the books were a welcome relief to know the story that the authors actually intended to share. The size and storage box make them truly easy to join my other collectables.

Valiant: A Modern Tale of Faerie68 reviews
Holly Black

Simon & Schuster Children's Publishing, 2005

Unique, Amazing, Fascinating, Raw
An amazing and unique modern day fairy tale. For anyone who loves fantasy or fairy stories, or books about strong women, i would suggest. Think "the weetzie bat books" and make it more "today" (the main girl is prone to think of video games often, etc), sexier, more raw, more dangerous, and add some serious girl toughness. think tank girl living underground in the tunnels in nyc and battling ...

The Field Guide (The Spiderwick Chronicles)138 reviews

An excellent series for the little ones.
Finally a series of books that is fun, positive and cute as a gnome's nose! Set in an old Victorian home, the three Grace children must cope with the absence of their father, the strains of moving and a very peculiar housemate. The Grace household is believable and the sibling rivalry and arguments are as real as any I have had with my own brothers and sisters. Beneath all the realism lurks a ...

A Giant Problem (Beyond the Spiderwick Chronicles)
Holly Black

Simon & Schuster Children's Publishing, 2008

Talk about out of the frying pan, into the fire! I was pretty sure that my freaky stepsister and that freaky field guide of hers would ruin my life. But now it looks like they're going to ruin all of Florida, too! Okay, maybe that's not fair. Maybe all these stupid giants would be waking up anyway, but if it wasn't for her and that book, I'd be home playing video games and this would be someone else's giant problem!

Care and Feeding of Sprites (Beyond the Spiderwick Chronicles)7 reviews
Holly Black

Simon & Schuster Children's Publishing, 2006

A cute and rather fun book!
Are you in love with sprites (or faeries if you would rather), and want to keep one with you as a beloved companion? Well, don't start until you have read this book! It covers everything from selecting your sprite, through care and feeding, and on to showing your sprite. (After all, what's the good of having a sprite if you can't show it off?) Oh yeah, this is a magical book, sure to please ...

The Spiderwick Chronicles Deluxe Collector's Trunk (The Spiderwick Chronicles)14 reviews
Holly Black

Simon & Schuster Children's Publishing, 2007

My son & I LOVE the Spiderwick Chronicals Deluxe Trunk set
My seven year old son & I are both immensely enjoying the Spiderwick Chronicals. He asks every night if we can read another chapter. The books are much shorter in length than the Harry Potter Books, so better for the younger set, although, there are several words that are over his head. The trunk gives you or your child a great place to store all 5 books so they stay safely together. We ...

A book which comes in handy.
This book is an outstandibly good book. This book has lots of secrets that you wouldn't have found out in all of the five spiderwick books. This book had lots of tips about "how to recognise a faery".I think the best things about this book was it included maps that you need to find places, diagrams which you need to help you discover and so on.I rated this book five because it was very useable.I ...

Spiderwick Field Guide a Fantastic Book
This is one of the best movie tie in books I have seen yet. Looks just like the Field Guide in the movie. Lots of really nice paintings and lots of hidden pockets with little things in them and envelopes. Just a fascinating book to read and browse. After reading through this book I feel I am fully prepared to see the movie when it premiers next week. Highly recommended.

Fairies galore
This is a great start to a fun series. Kids will love to read this book and the others. They are only 100 pages each, with a picture on every other page, to it is great for a first chapter book. They are also wonderful to read aloud to kids. I read them as an adult and loved the entire series.

Tremendous Fantasy
For a couple of weeks, things have been almost normal for the three Grace children (Jared, Simon and Mallory) - there have been no faerie sightings. But that changes quickly at Mallory's fencing competition and soon Jared is in serious trouble and he has a hard time explaining his actions. But there's even more trouble for Jared and Simon when Mallory disappears. Their search for her will take ...

Goblins Awakening
The characters in the story are three kids Mallory, Simon, and Jared. They moved into a new house, that was their aunt's old house. The story builds up with each book because there are five books. At the end of each book, it begins a new book which is my favorite; it makes me want to read more. This book is a fun fantasy book for nine years old and up. One of the creatures in this book is a ...

Goblins Attack (The Spiderwick Chronicles)1 review

Simon & Shuster, Inc., 2007

Exciting!
**Contains Spoilers** Reading this book was worth the fourteen minutes it took me to read it. This book was one of the "Lost Chapters" for Spiderwick's second book titled, "The Seeing Book". These lost chapters were in three books that were in a cereal box, and my mom received one from a girl at her work, and she gave it to me. To be honest, I have only read the first book of Spiderwick and I ...
