For those who THINK that they know everything about Turquoise...
This is the same review I gave to "Turquoise Unearthed"...and for all intents and purposes, they could be classified as companion volumes...both doing an exceptional job in words and images! "I have been a gem and mineral dealer for over ten years...and a rockhound for a lot longer than that...but this book taught me more in a single sitting than all my years in the buisiness and in the hobby. ...

Complete and fun reference book
This is such a fun book! Lots of rare photos of all cast members. I really enjoyed the stories and anecdotes from all the personal interviews with the different cast members. This book obviously took lots of time and effort to compile. I was won over in the first few pages where proper hommage is paid to the Angels' predecessors in female crime-fighting : Anne Francis as Honey West and Diana Rigg ...

Engaging twists and turns, for young and old alike.
I read this first as a little girl, before i knew how to spell feminism let alone define it. The stories captivated me then for their ability to lead my mind into another land more fantastical than my own. Later in life, re-reading this book i was compelled by the issues, thoughts and questions Zipes raised in my mind. It is not feminism that kills you with its anger, it is feminism that makes ...

Great Book for Babies, Kids and Adults to Share!
We love this book! I hope it never ever goes out of print. We started reading it with our son when he was about 11 months old. He loved the rhythms and we all loved the illustrations. It is beautiful to look at while you read. Now our son is almost two and I find that this book just gets better and better for us to read. We all have it memorized (my son chimes in at the end of each line). ...

Gentle, Easy Reading
This is the story of a man and a young boy whose friendship blossoms as they travel the country roads of medieval France together. Each in his own way, benefiting the other. On the one hand we have the Abbot Rutilius and on the other his appointed Acolyte William. Rutilius is the Papal auditor of monasteries in 13th century France. He goes around the monasteries checking on their finances and ...

Very good reference material
This book is excellent consolidation of reference material which is sensibly divided into logical chapters. It covers every area of sport performance in well-documented and example-driven text, colour diagrams and graphical representations. It is a generic reference book, which does not focus on specific sports activities, but uses examples from a wide range of sports to demonstrate the body's ...

Tales of the Kingdom
Tales of the Kingdom by David and Karen Mains is a tremendous allegory of the reality of the kingdom of Light and the Kingdom of Darkness. Written a decade before the movies for Lord of The Rings, this triology is a great depiction for young and old believers in Christ to see and experience, from story telling, some of the secrets of the Bible details of these kingdoms. Highly recommend for ...

Outstanding Step by Step for the Do-it-yourself Inventor
I have all of David Pressman's books on patenting, you know why? Because I filed my own patent using these books. That's how good they are. They really do have step by step instructions. He also has software that helps you prepare the docs. I sort of used that as well. Again, reasonable priced, and useful. I strongly recommend these books for anyone that wants to File a Patent. They will allow ...

Entertaining Stories for Adults and Children
Lyman Frank Baum (1856-1919) is best known today as the author of "The Wonderful Wizard of Oz," a children's story written in 1900. But following the success of that book, Baum wrote thirteen other Oz stories before his death from a stroke in 1919. Moreover, Baum wrote dozens of other children's tales, plays, and general stories. He was extraordinarily prolific, churning out five books in the ...

At the time I read volume 1 of this great series, I couldn't imagine how David Riklan could possibly top that accomplishment. But somehow he did! If you liked that book, order this one immediately. Like volume 1, volume 2 headlines articles by many famous authors: Jack Canfield; Richard Carlson; Alan Cohen; John Gray; and Bob Proctor. Beyond those marquee names, you'll also find many other ...

Wow! I didn't know Philadelphia had so many murals!
What a surprise I had in learning that Philadelphia, a city I've lived in for over ten years, has over 2,000 murals. And,in this book, they are beautifully displayed (well, not all 2000) and discussed. I learned about the artists who created the murals, the communities where the murals are, and just lots of interesting details about the mural arts program in Philadelphia--the most prolific in ...

The war, horror and Western were genre staples of the DC Universe, as much as it was to the Marvel Universe..until DC Crisis and Marvel's Secret Wars. These titles died a small death, due to the growthg of superheroes. DC, in its WAR genre hayday, Sgt. Great Book for the Cinema Officianado, Architect, or Old Houstonian
Welling has done a great service in preserving memories of the Cinema and the architecture of its theaters. The book focuses on Houston, Texas as it travels from the silent movie houses, through the golden age, megaplex, and on to the home theater. If you ever lived in Houston, you will find many memories among its pages. If you spent your formative years elsewhere, you may find that your home ...

"Three patients" or America's preoccupation with autonomy
An interesting book, probably unique in its kind. Dr Crippen is an intensive care specialist from Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania who in 1996 started an international internet discussion group (CCM-L) to deal with many issues involving critically ill patients. More than 1,000 members have enrolled. This is exceptional in the sense that for the first time health care professionals and providers from all ...

great bedtime read
i love fairy tale compliations because they are great to set your mind at ease after a long day. this one is particularly good. the stories are from authors such as Jean-Jacque Rosseau, Oscar Wilde, Mark Twain, William Hawthorne, and so on. It's a who's who from classical to comtemporary authors, political figures, and philosophers. Because of the variety of contributors, each story is very ...

What's even more incredible about this book than the first "Philadelphia Murals" - is that they found even more spectacular murals - enough to fill a second book!!! And the stories that go with these murals are as heart-felt as the murals themselves!!! Treat yourself to this book - well, both books - it is a present you won't ever regret!!! I wish I could buy them for you - I wish I had ...

This goes past the hype and into the core of Christmas.
"The Heart of Christmas" employs the writing talents of six inspirational authors, with the message they would most like people to learn and see at Christmastime. John Maxwell relates the wise men following the star and finding a lowly stable, to our search for greatness and finding instead disappointment, in our lives. He allows us to understand that we can find God even in our lowest ...
