Jane Austen: Pride and Prejudice Mansfield Park Persuasion 27 reviews Jane Austen
Chancellor Press, 2002
Jane Austen the complete novels, the delux edition Jane Austen: The Complete Novels, Deluxe Edition (Library of Literary Classics)
This is a beautiful book. Since it contains all the novels it is a handful but nicely bound with a leather cover and edge gilded pages. Since it is a weighty volume it has to be well made to stay together. I am half way through the book and it still looks like new. An incredible bargain at this price.

Jane Austen - 8 Books In 1: Sense & Sensibility, Pride & Prejudice, Mansfield Park, Emma, Northanger Abbey, ... 21 reviews Jane Austen
Shoes and Ships and Sealing Wax Ltd, 2006
The Incredible Jane Austen Whoever is acquainted with Jane Austen's novels probably understands that her place in literature is almost unique for the period in which she wrote. She traveled her own road, and in the process published some of the most entertaining stories of any era. Don't bother to look hard for a hidden theme or complex plot. I've never been able to uncover any such thing. But for sheer artistry in ...

NORTHANGER ABBEY (VIRAGO CLASSICS) 89 reviews MARGARET DRABBLE (INTRODUCTION) JANE AUSTEN
VIRAGO PRESS LTD, 1989
Northanger Abbey: Janeites rejoice in this light and lively tour de force Northanger Abbey is a gem. Jane Austen (1775-1817)has written a charmiing little novel about a charming little lady named Catherine Moreland. Catherine is 15 as the novel begins in Wiltshire. She and the hilariously stupid Mrs. Allen go on a six week trip to nearby Bath to take the waters. Catherine meets the fashionable and fast Isabella Thorpe. Catherine dances with the clergyman Henry Tilney ...

An enchanting love story Dear Anne Elliot has always done what was most prudent, and as such, when her father and godmother tried to persuade her not to marry her beloved Frederick Wentworth, she complied. But, she never stopped loving Mr. Wentworth, and she zealously followed his heroic career in the Royal Navy. And now, eight years later, when her family falls on hard times and are forced to rent out their home, she ...

Emma (Penguin Classics) 202 reviews Jane Austen
Penguin Classics, 1997
A True Romantic Comedy.... The title character of "Emma" is unique among the heroines of Jane Austen's novels. She is "handsome, clever, and rich" and, for most of the novel, not actively seeking a husband. The grim economic realities that made finding the right husband so important for Lizzie Bennet and her counterparts in the other novels does not apply. The young and inexperienced Emma can therefore be allowed to be ...

Mansfield Park complete illustrated novel by Jane Austen 1 review
MobileReference, 2008
Excellent I think this is my favorite Jane Austen book so far, although I still have Persuasion and Northanger Abbey to read. Most Austen fans would not count Mansfield Park as a favorite, though, at least from what I've heard. It's not that it's a profoundly different book from the more popular Pride & Prejudice or Sense & Sensibility, but many people seem to dislike the main character, or at least are ...

Pride and Prejudice, 2008
Mrs. Bennet's only wish in life is to see her five daughters settled and married to men of 'considerable fortune'. The Arrival of such a man, makes her hopeful that she can marry off a daughter. Mr. Bingley, the man in question, rented the Netherfield estate where he settled down with his two sisters, Miss Bingley and Mrs. Hurst, and his sister's husband, Mr. Hurst. At first, Mr. Fitzwilliam Darcy, Hurst's friend, is far more the subject of ...

Penguin Press has provided Kindle owners with a wonderful enhanced version of the novel preserving the three volume format without attempting to standardize or modernize the text.

Northanger Abbey - complete illustrated novel by Jane Austen 5 reviews
MobileReference, 2008
Absolutely delightful I approached this book somewhat warily, knowing that Northanger Abbey was to some degree a satirical take on the immense popularity of Gothic romances such as Ann Radcliffe's The Mysteries of Udolpho, a book I dearly love. Happily, Austen's means of poking fun at Gothic horror literature are far from mean-spirited and, as a matter of fact, can be delightfully humorous indeed. Her heroine, ...

Persuasion (Tor Classics) 112 reviews Jane Austen
Tor Classics, 1999
Love's Barriers Delightfully Probed in Polite Conversation Persuasion is Jane Austen's most sophisticated story and writing. She lovingly and incisively demonstrates the problems of being a well-bred sensitive person in a society that's more intrigued by social standing, money, and polite conversation than by good character.
Persuasion is Anne Elliot's story. The title's initial allusion is to Anne's brush with matrimony when a promising, but not ...
