My ESL thinks it's great!
I used this with a group of adult students from West Africa. They were the ones who decided to purchase the book out of their own pockets because they found it so helpful. They speak French and very little English. I do not speak French. The book was quite valuable.

Diksione sa a bon anpil anpil
It was bettet than the expected. I was surprised with the quality of the book (paper, colors and images). The contens organization and the vocabulary is very helpfull. I speak spanish as native language so this dictionary is a good english review while I am studying kreyol.

The Language Bible!
I have been teaching French, Spanish and ESL for many years. I have tried every teaching tool I could find. I can honestly say, this book is the best language tool ever! My students take this book with them everywhere they go and they are the ones who started calling this their "bible."

Wide array of scenarios
There are 168 pages of different scenarios pictured. Each item in the picture is tagged with a number. The numbers are listed on the bottom of the page with the English and Russian spelling. So, it helps if you already understand how to read Cyrillic letters. The only thing I'm not 100% sure about is the Geography listing on page 124 has an incorrect Russian Translation for South America. ...

The Oxford Picture Dictionary is a great line of language books, helpful and extremely easy to use and learn the contents. Useful Book for Teaching English.
I am an ESL teacher and tutor 5 Vietnamese students. They all have purchased this book and we are using it with hands on lessons for each chapter of this dictionary. There are no other books that I have found in the 15 years I have tutored that are more descriptive and the illustrations helpful for teaching English. Enjoy!

One of the best picture dictionaries out there!
I own three Portuguese picture dictionaries (even though I am an adult), and this was by far, the best one. I find it easier to learn a foreign language when I can associate the word with an image/picture. On top of that, it's almost like reading a children's book... which makes learning a foreign language so much more enjoyable. I highly recommend this book!

Learning a foriegn language
My wife is a Thai woman and is learning English. This book has been very, VERY helpful to her. Two of her friends have also purchased this book. I have bought larger, more detailed types but she prefers this one. An excellent buy for any Thai student.

This, like the others, in the series are brilliant
I have used the Cambodian-English picture dictionary for teaching both English to Khmer speakers and Khmer to English speakers. As a tool for building vocabulary and provoking free conversation on a one-to-one basis, there can be few better. As a self teaching tool it is also invaluable. Above all it is clear, accurate and attractive to work with.
