Dramatic fantasy story based on a classic Irish folktale
Ever since she was born, Gwenore of Wales has been regarded as a curse by her mother, a truly evil witch named Rhiamon. Just when things couldn't get any worse, Gwenore is accused of murder and locked away in a cellar. Then in the ...

Its been 2 years since I read this book but it has stuck with me the whole time I mean it was an awesome story even though it was way too short. The characters like Jordan should have been introduced more, but hey! it was still great. Jordan's life was really really sad and I knew exactly how Bridget felt. "The Rain Catcher" by Jean Thesman
I'm not much of a book reader, but this book was a real page turner me. It reminded me of the times i spent with my grandmother down in Missouri visiting family & listening to stories from their past and from mine as well. This story touched me, and I cant wait for my little sister to read it as well. I recomend this book to everyone, especially those who are not much of readers like myself. ...

Great Book!
I found The Ornament Tree to be a very moving book, full of power. Bonnie has just moved into her aunt's boarding house and begins a new life. She meets her cousin Clare who is stubborn and moody. Her aunts teach her a lot, they represent the coming of age women in a Victorian Society. One boarder develops a special relationship with Bonnie. This is Mr. Younger who was blinded in the Great ...

When the Road Ends
WOW! Hi, (...) I am 13 years old. At our school we have to get reading points and I really dont like to read. I went to the library and checked out When the Road Ends because a few of my friends had suggested it. I went home and read the first chapter. I was hooked immediatly! The book is sooo good! It is my all time favorite! The next day we had a school delay and I finished the whole ...

An awesome book-especially if you are a musician
Cattail Moon was really great! It had just the right mix of mystery, sadness, happiness, friendship, and love. As a musician, I could relate to Julia very well. It did scare me a little, that maybe one day my music dreams would present a hard decision. But there are not many music books out there, so I enjoyed reading this one. I also loved the fact that it encouraged individuality. This ...

An awesome book that kept you on the edge of your seat.
I would give this book five stars because I like the way it showed real teenage problems about being embarrassed and being sick. If I was the character, Keller Parrish, I wouldn't have been so embarrassed about having asthma but I'm not in her situation so I don't know what she's going through. This book was also cool because it was about a ghost who was in love with a girl but he had to ...

Proving that courage is not an attribute of a certain age...
In her inimitable style, Jean Thesman pens a book about the trials of life as a teenage girl during Prohibition. She captures the feeling of the era so wondrously that you feel as if you are 15-year old Quinn. Her father, Beau John, is endeared by the whole neighborhood for his easygoing and generous personality. Once a bookkeeper, he is forced to work long hours as a dock laborer in ...

Wonderful!
It has been about 10 years since I read this book, but when I read it in 5th grade, I thought it was wonderful...I have not reread it since, but would love to read it to see if it still touches my heart like it did then. I remember it being a very heart-touching, tear-jerking book.

A wonderfully realistic story
No one ever helped Erin deal with the death of her parents when she was just ten years old. Instead, she was shipped off to live with her grandparents, whose stern watchfulness just turned Erin into a rebellious teenager. Now, at 15, her wildness gets her into big trouble, and her grandparents don't want her living with them anymore. Erin moves back to her hometown, Seattle, into the big ...

Molly Donnelly is probably the best book I've ever read. It states the truth, and shows you what life is really like growing up. Not everything is picture perfect.

A great YA story about strong friendship vs. high school
Amelia Whitney is a typical 15-year-old, whose days are filled with friends, teacher complaints and bratty younger siblings -- until she is nearly date-raped. The episode robs Amelia of her self-esteem, especially when she discovers how many people she used to consider her friends are willing to believe the rumors. Although it takes time, Amelia's friends help her to get a little revenge, and ...
