Great Maui Reference
Having never been to Maui, I grabbed this book to gain some insight into the places I needed to see and things I needed to do while on vacation. The book is fantastic, notes the best "hole in the wall" cafes and restaurants, lists the GREAT farmers markets and fruit stands along your route, and even breaks down the things you can do/see if you're on the island for 3-days, 4-days, 5-days, etc. ...

Good basic guide book
This guidebook isn't flashy, but has a lot of usable information; and it's well organized. I've been to Maui twice before, most recently in 2002, and am planning a trip later this year. Frommer's is accurate based on my experience. The 2010 version also appears to be up to the minute with current information. I definately reccommend taking this along.

Great Guide: Well laid out and reliable
Early in December, when the cold cutting winds were blowing on the mainland, I headed over to Waikiki for a week of surf and sun. I took with me three guides but surprisingly I never got to use the other guides because Frommer's answered my questions and covered the angles. Kudos! I found the accommodations and restaurants in this guide to be reliable and fairly extensive. It is logical ...

I have purchased other items about the Big Island and they don't hold a candle to this book.

Frommer's Hawaii with kids
While searching for information on traveling with a wheelchair user I came across this book with on line excerpts that contained just what I was looking for. The tips and special advice found here have answered many questions concerning travel around and accessibility of the various islands. Well worth the money.

Great book - a must for the Hawaii traveler.
Great book - and useful information. My wife and I have been to Hawaii now quite a few times and this book still seems to be essential for us. We bring it on every trip. We have been to Maui, Honolulu and the Big Island too with this book. The book is presented in a predictable yet interesting format. The information about attractions, accommodations and food is accurate and well ...

Frommer's, 2000

Great Guide Book
This book has some great finds such as places to eat (for reasonable amounts). It talks of one place on Maui that's a community college. The students create a four course meal for only $11! It also gave us some great suggestions for where we can spend our honeymoon. I would definitely try out the bed and breakfasts over the "canned" travel agent resorts. Excellent resource for prices on ...

Great Maps, but don't rely on just on this book
The book was good as it did detail many restaurants and beaches. In addition, it provided a detailed map which is especially useful if you are planning on hiring a car. However, I would not recommend just using this book. There were some eatery's that were recommended in this book that were regarded by the "maui revealed book" as not as good. I would recommend using this book in addition to Maui ...

Handbook for Hawaii
Living in Hawaii one often has to reckon with visiting family/friends and this is the book I give them before I send them on their island travels. The information is accurate and practical-the kind of material that helps you meet your travel needs. There are some contemporary cultural events (on Oahu especially) that are covered in the book that will contribute to the Hawaii experience for the ...

Frommer's Guides are really helpful.
I have been very fortunate. I have had the oportunity to visit Hawai'i three times: The Big Island once, and Maui twice. I used a prevoius edition of this Frommer's Guide for a lot of my planning. I like the listings of inexpensive hotels, B&B's, restaurants and activities in the book. Inexpensive does not mean poor quality. I have never been disappointed when following the advice in the ...

bad driving info but good restaurant info
If you are looking for good eating recomendations, this is the book for you. But if you are interested in driving around Maui, especially the Hana Highway, find another book. The driving directions they give -- site-seeing points, where to stop, how to find roads off the highway and especially how to find hiking trails are not good at all. I just returned from a trip to Maui and wished I had ...

First trip to Hawaii
We have just returned to the mainland from our first ever trip to Hawaii. We stayed at a wonderful B & B on Oahu, where we found the Frommer's guide to Honolulu, Waikiki and Oahu along with many other guide books, but we found it to be the best. This book was a fabulous guide, with all the maps and notes of places to go and things to see. We used it like a bible. It helped to make our trip very ...

Must have companion for a first timer/newbie to Hawaii
I just returned from my first trip to Hawaii (business mostly, but vacation too) and this book was my constant companion. This is an incredibly useful book that described what to do, where to go and how to get around - this book is packed with detailed and useful information. All of the islands are described, and sample itineraries are provided for each of the islands. Like all the Frommer's ...
