Frommer's Portable Big Island of Hawaii (Frommer's Portable) 3 reviews Jeanette Foster
Frommers, 2007
Excellent, travel-sized reference This guide is excellent. The descriptions are accurate, practical, and useful.
My husband and I read the review and drove to The Little Juice Shack wanting some healthy juice and it no longer existed :( BUT there was a Natural Food Store in the same shopping center (Parker Ranch Shopping Center) on the end near the post office. They had excellent juice at their juice bar and even more ...

Pauline Frommer's Hawaii: Spend Less, See More (Pauline Frommer Guides) 1 review Jeanette Foster, Pauline Frommer, ...
Frommers, 2008
Handbook for Hawaii Living in Hawaii one often has to reckon with visiting family/friends and this is the book I give them before I send them on their island travels. The information is accurate and practical-the kind of material that helps you meet your travel needs. There are some contemporary cultural events (on Oahu especially) that are covered in the book that will contribute to the Hawaii experience for the ...

Frommer's Maui 2008 (Frommer's Complete) 1 review Jeanette Foster
Frommers, 2007
Great Maps, but don't rely on just on this book The book was good as it did detail many restaurants and beaches. In addition, it provided a detailed map which is especially useful if you are planning on hiring a car. However, I would not recommend just using this book. There were some eatery's that were recommended in this book that were regarded by the "maui revealed book" as not as good. I would recommend using this book in addition to Maui ...

Frommer's Hawaii 2009 (Frommer's Complete) 1 review Jeanette Foster

Not for everyone. Full disclosure: I have the previous year's, but it is the same author. Hawaii can't change that much in a year...
I found this guidebook worse than useless. I left it in the airport when I left. Perhaps I was frustrated because I had had such awesome guidebooks for South America, Africa, and Europe. We ended up using my buddy's iPhone for everything. This book is extremely poorly ...

Frommer's Honolulu, Waikiki & Oahu (Frommer's Complete) 9 reviews Jeanette Foster
Frommers, 2007
Easy going vacation I found this book made everything easy to find. Our daughter's wedding was our excuse to visit Oahu for the first time. Frommers made it easy to play tourist and wind our way through the streets of Honolulu without a hitch. Paid for itself many times over for its restaurant ratings alone. I personally give it high high marks for accuracy.

Frommer's, 2007
Frommer's Hawaii with kids While searching for information on traveling with a wheelchair user I came across this book with on line excerpts that contained just what I was looking for. The tips and special advice found here have answered many questions concerning travel around and accessibility of the various islands. Well worth the money.

Frommer's Portable Maui (Frommer's Portable) 1 review Jeanette Foster
Frommers, 2007
bad driving info but good restaurant info If you are looking for good eating recomendations, this is the book for you. But if you are interested in driving around Maui, especially the Hana Highway, find another book. The driving directions they give -- site-seeing points, where to stop, how to find roads off the highway and especially how to find hiking trails are not good at all. I just returned from a trip to Maui and wished I had ...

Must have companion for a first timer/newbie to Hawaii I just returned from my first trip to Hawaii (business mostly, but vacation too) and this book was my constant companion. This is an incredibly useful book that described what to do, where to go and how to get around - this book is packed with detailed and useful information. All of the islands are described, and sample itineraries are provided for each of the islands. Like all the Frommer's ...

Great book, great island We are planning our first trip to Hawaii and have been amazed on the amount of information that is out there. This book summarizes all of the hawaiian islands and helped us plan our 3 week trip. It reviews not only hotels, but restaurants, activities and hot spots to see. All for less than $20! I feel that it is a must for any traveler to the island.

The Complete Idiot's Travel Guide to Hawaii (Complete Idiot's Guide to) 12 reviews Cheryl Leas, Nathaniel Leas, ...
Macmillan Distribution, 1998
Valuable--I hope it is reprinted soon An outstanding overall guide to Hawaii--The best feature is a "quiz" which helps you decide which island(s) you will find most enjoyable. It has general advice on visiting Hawaii, how to get the best deals, etc., followed by a chapter on each of the major islands. It does not cover islands a new visitor is less likely to visit, such as Lanai and Molokai. The specific chapters on each island ...

All you want to know about Maui and more. I bought this book prior to our umpteenth trip to Maui because we wanted to do something different for a change and it seemed to have good advice on off- the- beaten- track accommodations, restaurants, experiences. It never disappointed us. As a professional travel consultant, I now refer to it with regularity to help plan trips for my clients who also want to do something "different" on the ...

Frommer's Hawaii from $80 a Day (Frommer's $ A Day) 4 reviews Jeanette Foster

Frommer's Guides are really helpful. I have been very fortunate. I have had the oportunity to visit Hawai'i three times: The Big Island once, and Maui twice. I used a prevoius edition of this Frommer's Guide for a lot of my planning.
I like the listings of inexpensive hotels, B&B's, restaurants and activities in the book. Inexpensive does not mean poor quality. I have never been disappointed when following the advice in the ...
