Workshops You Can Build1 review
David Stiles, Jeanie Stiles

Firefly Books, 2005

Perfectly Targetted
Having supplied us so long with designs for treehouses, playhouses, and sheds, David Stiles has now produced the designs he knew we needed all along - workshops where his do-it-yourself audience can follow their dreams. Even more than in previous books, Stiles lets form follow function, so that a boatbuilder's shop is nothing like a ceramics shop. In addtion, he has beefed up the portions that ...

Cabins: A Guide to Building Your Own Nature Retreat13 reviews
David Stiles, Jeanie Stiles

Firefly Books, 2001

Terrific Informational Read - NOT Blueprints or Plans, Though
I'm tending to agree with both sides here! And I think it's a great book. I have been reading building and cabin books for a year (we're building this Summer). This one is pretty great - a good way to inform yourself about options, the decisions you need to make, kinds of cabins, etc. Another reviewer writes as if I were going to go out and build my cabin based on the info in this book. Now that ...

David Stiles, Jeanie Trusty Stiles

Mariner Books, 1996

interesting projects a beginner can make on their own.
They really thought up some great storage ideas in this book-my favorite has totally reorganized my kitchen-I built the storage unit for inside the door panel beneath the sink-now I have my dishwashing detergent, soap, sponges, and dishwashing gloves tucked neatly away with easy access! I highly recommend this book.

David Stiles, Jeanie Trusty Stiles

Mariner Books, 1996

This book saved my life!
My wife got me this book as a present, and to say the least, I am no handy man. I am proud to say I now am! This book was super clear, and the designs had interesting projects that we could really use. I really recommend this book to anyone, with or without building experience.

Great All-Around Treehouse Guide

Garden Retreats: A Build-It-Yourself Guide4 reviews
David Stiles, Jeanie Stiles

Storey Publishing, LLC, 1999

Summerhouse changing my life
I have almost finished building the summerhouse in Garden Retreats. It overlooks a bay where swan , ducks and other birds come over every day to watch my progress. This has been one of the most gratifying projects I have ever attempted. It has been time consuming, but worth it. I have even put in electric as suggested in the book. I highly recommend this book and this project. Once I ...

Sheds: The Do-It-Yourself Guide for Backyard Builders19 reviews
David Stiles, Jeanie Stiles

Firefly Books, 2007

Wow - this is an eye opener for the British
We don't do sheds like these - what a surprise. These are very nice looking outhouses that most carpenters could build. The plans and dimensions are pretty basic but all the construction notes are within the book so it would cause the average home carpenter no problems. The designs ae really nice and opens up your thinking beyond just another shed - to creating a garden building that enhances ...

Treehouses and other Cool Stuff2 reviews
Jeanie Stiles, David Stiles

Gibbs Smith, Publisher, 2007

Simple and Exciting
't was great fun! We already built two of the projects described with detailed directions and plans in this wonderful book: the downhill racer ... and what fun do the kids have with it! and the lemonade stand on wheels, which we take sometimes to the beach. We are looking forward to build a tree house next spring. If experience is any guide, it should be ready for the summer.
