CSI Miami: Right to Die
Jeff Mariotte
Pocket Star
, 2008
A young man is killed in Miami's Bicentennial Park. Two shots -- one a through-and-through -- and on his body a quantity of coke is found. It would be easy to mark down his killing as gang related or a drug deal gone bad. While the simplest explanation may be the best, it does not follow that it is always true. There is something about the angles of the bullets that killed him that are off...and why take his gun and money, and leave the drugs? ...

Pretty Good!
This book was pretty good, well written. I was a little nervous reading it, I thought it might be stupid, but it was able to pull me in within the first few lines. All in all it's a good book! I couldn't put it down. If you really like Charmed, you'll really like this book. Daryl makes an appearance in the book, so if you like him, you'll be happy. It'll make you think twice about exercising ...

Book
I love the "Las Vegas" show! The books published between seasons was a great idea. Keeps the momentum going until the new season starts. The book arrived in good condition. It also arrived quickly. Price was right. Too bad the Network screwed things up and cancelled the show! I will be sure to give them the same support they gave to show - "NONE"!!!

The Agony and the Ecstasy
If it was the end of Season 2 that made it clear that Joss Whedon's little fancy of a young Slayer and her doughty band of misfits was a force to be contended with, it was the following two seasons that demonstrated the ability of BTVS to baffle its critics and make original dramatic statements completely beyond the range of standard teen fare. Volume 2 of The Watcher's Guide is a giant ...

Disclaimer: Don't read while babysitting!
I was very, very cautious when purchasing this book. I felted aboslutely betrayed by Nevermore and was not too trusting with this book. Boy am I glad that I got it! It felt like I was a bystander inside one of the Brother's weekly horror movies. I rarely get scared when reading books anymore amd while I was up late babysitting- I got the heebie-jeebees! The ghosts scared me and when the widow ...

IDW Continues Its "Angel" Series
After two entertaining (yet imperfect) Angel arcs by IDW Publishing, the company decided to take a break from a continuing miniseries and release five one-shot "Spotlight" issues. Each issue of "Angel: Spotlight" details an adventure in the life of characters that don't often get their own stories. Each section was written and drawn by different writers/artists, making this a very diverse ...

Return of the Undead
Rumors of the Undead is the perfect book to read if you loved vampires prior to Anne Rice turning vampire literature into homoerotica with fangs. Much like the comic, the book has lots of blood and violence with a very dark and gritty style of story telling. The lead character, Andy Gray, is a normal Joe living a normal life until it's turned upside down by betrayal and supernatural forces. The ...

Amazingly Comprehensive
Everyone knows Angel didn't hit its creative stride until season three (enter Amy Acker, rev up the Cordy/Angel romantic subplot, and begin the engaging multi episode baby arc), but this book does a great job of detailing the first two seasons. Get it. Great pictures, tons of facts. A must have for any Angel fan.

Angel and Spike..hmmmmmmm..
Didn't know it was gonna be a "comic" book. My fault for not reading the description...but it was great. Any book/comic book/movie..etc that has both Angel and Spike...works for me.

Buffy and Angel finally learn about what is really going on
"Door to Alternity," the second in the "Unseen" Buffy/Angel crossover trilogy, offers us an explanation for why people are disappearing in Los Angeles while monsters are popping up all over the place in Sunnydale. But what is more interesting is what we discover to be the power behind the opening of these doors to "alternity," as Nancy Holder and Jeff Mariotte offer an interesting twist on the ...

Great Series
Nancy Holder deserves a huge Buffy fan award. Not only did her hardcover book, "Book of Fours," provide fans with one of teh Slayer's best stories, it fit logically into the Buffy-verse without taking many great leaps. I'm not sure why she stopped writing with Christopehr Golden but I have no complaints. She blew his "Tales of the Lost Slayer" out of the water with this trilogy. It all fit neatly ...

Yet another great Charmed book
This book kept me in the dark but I did have a feeling about who the bad guy was.I think they shouldn't make it obvious on who the "Bad guy" is...they should make it where we think that person is bad but really is good and vise versa with the good guy. It's kid of too preidctable. But I still love Charmed! I just have one question...why are Phoebe and Cole still together? When are they going to ...

DC Universe: Trail of Time
I have read all four of the DC Universe books published so far. They are all worth reading but Trail of Time is by far the best. To have Jonah Hex, Bat Lash, Scalphunter, El Diablo, and Johnny Thunder together helping Superman, Phantom Stranger, and the Demon (Jason Blood)against Vandal Savage, Mordu and Felix Faust was magnificent. I never have seen a text adventure featuring the DC western ...

Great way to fill in the gaps!
I just happened upon this book by accident, and I am thrilled that I did. When the season ended in May 2005, the Montecito had been imploded and all the characters were scattered everywhere. When the new season began, it was as if it were "real time" and six months had passed in the characters' lives as well. A lot of issues weren't really touched upon in the TV show, especially with Nessa in ...

A fun read.
Being a Robert E. Howard fan, I'm excited that someone has finally started writing other stories taking place in his Hyborian age. However, it has to be done right, if not for the entertainment values, then out of respect for REH. Mariotte does that here. Of all the places and peoples of the Hyborian world to write a story, none better could be picked then the Pictish frontier. Howard himself ...

A Contribution to Vampire Literature
My compliments to the authors; this is a well written book. Much better than its predecessor in the series "Rumors of the Undead (30 Days of Night)". Tight story, good character development, and contextually plausible. Thus, the reader finds himself/herself in the story. This duo is maturing as an author team and I'm looking forward to the next one. Follow these instructions to get the most ...

surprisingly good book
I bought this book because I knew I was about to have surgery and the book was thick enough to keep me occupied. I had no idea it was the first two books in the series. I bought it because of its size and found out it's a really good story. If you like witches and suspense, you'll probably like these stories as well. Now I just need to find the last two books. I can't wait to see what happens ...
