Bone Volume 7: Ghost Circles7 reviews
Jeff Smith

GRAPHIX, 2008

Great series takes a turn into the grim
With "Ghost Circles," the seventh of nine volumes, the "Bone" saga gets very, very serious. While still appropriate for all ages (there is nothing here you wouldn't let your eight-year-old read), this is hardly kiddy fare. It's dark, grim and rarely funny. "Bone" is an epic story about three "bone creatures" and their adventures in a valley peopled with an assortment of crazy and interesting ...

Panel One: Comic Book Scripts by Top Writers4 reviews

About Comics, 2002

Why didn't some body think of this sooner?
It seems like such an obvious good idea. It's a wonderful glimpse into the creative process. Just received it last night, and I'm already half through it. I haven't done that since I was eleven and got Stan Lee's How to Draw Comics the Marvel Way. Not that this book has any similarity to that one. This is not a how to book. Its a more intimate, than any instructional book. Its a similar ...

Fg on Our Immigrant Ance14 reviews
Jeff Smith

Avon, 1992

"IT LOOKS LIKE PEASANT FOOD BECAUSE IT IS PEASANT FOOD"!
My title blurb is a funny quote I remembered, Jeff Smith spoke on his entertaining PBS show. Before 'The Food Network' we had the witty and talented 'Frugal Gourmet'. This book deals with some simplistic, yet very good classic old world dishes. Nothing fancy, just great traditional food! This is yet another excellent cook book by Jeff Smith! It's full of great recipes and stories by a very ...

21st Century Astronomy, Second Edition3 reviews
Jeff Hester, David Burstein, ...

W. W. Norton, 2006

Out of this world
Wonderful explanations. This is the astronomy book I never had as a kid! I'm a biologist and always thought I had the good fortune of working in the most interesting field. It sounds trite, but this book has opened my eyes to a universe out there. Now I even sort of understand black holes and the implications of relativity.

Bone Volume 2: The Great Cow Race12 reviews
Jeff Smith

GRAPHIX, 2005

Good series
The only drawback off this TPB is its length - this comics is simplistic so you go through the book fast. But the story is great, characters are engaging and you have to wait for the next volume. Note - this edition is colored and is really beautiful. Can't imaging it in any other quality.

Rose9 reviews
Jeff Smith, Charles Vess

Cartoon Books, 2002

Great book
It's doesn't have the comedy of the other Bone books but fills in a lot of backstory, is beautifully drawn and colored, and is actually quite scary.

Toad Pocket Reference for Oracle (Pocket Reference (O'Reilly))9 reviews

Great little references to the shortcuts you're looking for
I've used TOAD awhile now and saw there were 2 books coming out on it - this on and the TOAD handbook. This little reference is excellent. Great that it just happened to be written on the version I'm using now - 7.4. The book however is based on TOAD's core functionality and not really so much on new features. Just skimming through I came across some features I hadn't even used. It's does ...

Win the Bermuda Bowl With Me2 reviews
Jeff Meckstroth, Marc Smith

Master Point Press, 2001

I loved it
The hands were not killers, just typical hands that any abover average player can handle. The pros can handle the pressure, and make fewer mistakes. But many of the hands they encounter are not the killers found in some of the hard Test Your declarer Play type books. Good hands, and fun to read. Good job, 2 thumbs up.

Bone Volume 5: Rock Jaw: Master of the Eastern Border7 reviews
Jeff Smith

GRAPHIX, 2007

My son loves these books
My seven-year old literally jumped for joy when we received book 5. He loves these books, and I had great difficulty not reading the entire book to him in one sitting. As it was, he looked at every page of the rest of the book. At bedtime, he went to sleep with the book beside him.

Great book, well written
Jeff Smith does a nice job of conveying the strategy behind photography outside of the studio. Not only informative but also teaches the reader to sharpen his/her skill. Posing techniques for both individuals and groups as well as maximizing environmental surroundings to work for your photographs are discussed in detail. An invaluable book for any photographer's library.

GRAPHIX, 2006

Bone, Books 1 through 4
These books are fantastic! I have two 7yr old boys that cry if I don't read this book to them at night. Parents: Imagine using, I won't read to you tonight if you don't stop right now, and it works...that's how good this series is. At first I thought the book might be a little too scary for them but they were hooked and it wasn't until book 4 that I had to consider sensoring some of the ...
