A GREAT READ!!!!!
This book was an awesome sequel to Karavans! I was riveted from beginning to end and can't wait for the next book in this series. The main characters were well developed and the storyline was excellent.

The Lovely Lady of Sherwood
Once again, Jennifer Roberson has captured my heart with her book. I thought 'Lady of the Forest' was wonderful, and this is the best sequel I have ever read. You laugh, you cry, you hate, you love.. To put it simply: 'This book rocks!' :D

Lady Of The Glen: A Novel of 17Th-Century Scotland and the Massacre of Glencoe32 reviews
Jennifer Roberson

Kensington, 1997

Excellent
This was a very good book and an enjoyable read. I really enjoyed the two main characters, Catriona (Cat) and Alasdair (Dair) a lovely Romeo and Juliet story. A pleasant change to have the heroine not be drop dead gorgeous. Their characters were well drawn, intelligent and displayed great chemistry. I enjoyed their playful banter as they "courted" and afterward when they become lovers. LOL ...

The Golden Key (Daw Book Collectors)41 reviews
Melanie Rawn, Jennifer Roberson, ...

DAW, 2000

Rich, unusual historical fantasy
I was attracted to this book by Melanie Rawn's involvement, having enjoyed her Dragon Prince/Dragon Star trilogies a great deal for their dry wit, excellent characterisation and compelling plotting. I had only a vague idea of what it was about before I started reading - but once I did, I was completely entranced. The multi-generational novel is set in a world with a strong feel of Renaissance or ...

Jennifer Roberson

DAW, 2007

Awesome Book!!!!
I loved reading this book!!! The attention to detail and character development was superb. If a book could be felt and experienced like a 3D movie, then this book was it. I felt what the characters felt and saw what they saw. I haven't experienced a book like this since Jean M. Auel's Clan of the Cave Bear series. Definately, read this book. I didn't even care that at the end of the book nobody ...

Lady Of The Forest41 reviews

Loved Every Minute of It!
I have never tried to understand my fascination with the tales of Robin Hood. I have loved the films for many years and had expected to be content with what lay before me. It wasn't until one day I happened upon a copy of the Lady of Sherwood that I was shown something even better. I read the index and was so excited to hear of another retelling of Robin Hood. I grabbed a copy of the Lady of the ...

Murder by Magic: Twenty Tales of Crime and the Supernatural2 reviews

Aspect, 2004

one of the best consistent compilations of the year
This superb twenty collection anthology runs the mystery gamut but has the common thread as stated by Rosemary Edghill in her introduction that "a crime (preferably by murder), and magic and the supernatural had to be somehow involved". Each tale does that and though the format is short story, readers will believe in the use of magic albeit whether to commit a crime, solve a crime, or both. The ...

Children of the Lion: Cheysuli Omnibus #3 (Cheysuli)2 reviews
Jennifer Roberson

DAW, 2001

Epic Saga
This is a wonderful story with fabulous characters. Each character has a totem animal, which is his other self. They,"The Cheysuli" are awaiting a prophesied son to return balance to the world. Lots of magic and mayhem. What I remember best is hating it when one character got old and died and Roberson went into the next generations. I got so involved with each of them.

A Tapestry of Lions (Chronicles of the Cheysuli, Bk. 8)8 reviews
Jennifer Roberson

DAW, 1992

My favourite series ever
Like I said, this is far and away the best series I ever read. There are things in this particular book that broke my heart (like a death near the beginning), but there are also things that made me cry out of pure joy (like the cartain birth near the end). I was only about 13 when I read this the first time... four years later I still find it one of the most moving, best writtin series I have ...

Wonderful and Engrossing Read
This series is one of my favorite. It takes you over and each character lives on in your mind, even after setting the book down. If you like first-rate fantasy with wonderful plot and characters, this is a "must read."

Legacy of the Wolf: Cheysuli Omnibus #2 (Cheysuli)5 reviews

DAW, 2001

Jennifer Roberson always a good bet!
While the omnibuses are actually reprints of the ealier works, they are still a must for sci-fi/fantasy readers. Jennifer Roberson has created a world full of magic, mystery and prophecy that can easily share a shelf with Tolkien and other favorites in my library. The books span several generations and take you through a realm filled with characters that come to life and take hold of your ...

The Novels of Tiger and Del, Volume I6 reviews
Jennifer Roberson

DAW Trade, 2006

A worthy-if offbeat-fantasy compliation
Meet Tiger. Or rather, the Sandtiger, the most famous, skilled and revered sword-dancer in the south (as he would say it, but then a man must build a reputation.) Tiger exists solely for the sword-dance, and for pretty women, and liquor. And I'm not going to say that all of that changed when he met Del, but some of it did. Del is an oddity to Tiger, a northern, pale skinned, pale hared woman ...

ok reading
I was kind of excited to read something different. The first book I loved. Shapechanging heroine. Couldn't have expected more. Second book, skipped forward five years and went to a different character, ok, can handle that. The remainder of the books in the series jump 20-25 years, and change to the children of the characters in the prior books. All are about serving the prophecy. I ...

Return to Avalon6 reviews
Various

DAW, 1996

Good for what it was, not for Avalon.
I think that this book was a very good idea, but it is nothing like The Mists of Avalon, the book it was a tribute to. It was, however, a worthy achievement of those authors who contributed to the book. Some of the stories will be forever memorable in my mind. I loved this book, and I hope that all fantasy fans at least give it credit for effort!
