A book truly worth reading
I received this book as a Christmas gift in 2006 and set it aside. I recently picked it up to read and was blown away not only by the story, but Gary's writing style. I was drawn into the characters and had a had time putting it down. I am so glad I finally read it. I am also sorry I did not read it sooner - it is a fabulous story that needed to be told.

Excellent circumnavigation story
The author has a comfortable and fluid writing style. He has a pleasant sense of humor. This book could have been longer as it skips too much of their voyage. The sequel is also excellent with the same gripe. Both have a lot of sailing terms, but those without the background can just ignore them.
