Nice Collection: Would Have Been Better if in Chronological Order...
Don't get me wrong. I love the stories of Warlock written by Jim Starlin, illustrated by Ron Lim, Angel Medina et al; and I'm happy Marvel has collected these books under one cover. That's the good. The bad? You sure do have to flip around a lot, back and forth, in the book, if you want to read the stories in chronological order! Marvel has grouped the "Infinity War" miniseries together, ...

one of the greatest TPB's of all time
If you like comic book deities even a slight bit, or even modern or ancient human deities, then this book is for you. Struggles are all of cosmic proportion. I love the reference to all Earth's ancient religion gods as gods who are but a drop in the bucket compared to some of the forces at work here. Even though its a comic book, it tells it like it is. Us, as human beings, can lay no claim ...

She's come to stop crime across the globe and bring peace to the universe. Captain America and Spider-Man are on her side; Thanos and Mephisto stand against her. So how can she be the bad guy? Jim Starlin's 1990s cosmic collection culminates when the Fantastic Four, the X-Men, the Avengers, the Infinity Watch, the New Warriors, and most other super-hero teams of the time are split by a universal crisis...of faith! Also featuring the Mole Man, ...

As the fourth world turns
If only they were all this good. A story that starts out as a classic and compelling whodunit centering on the mysterious and inexplicable deaths of various members of the New Gods magically coalesces at its midpoint into a cosmic tour de force encompassing and reflecting on the past 23 years of DCU history. Forget its curious connection to Countdown, this is a major event all by itself. Jim ...

A nice piece of work
I initially bought this just because Mike Mognola did the art, which by the way is absolutely amazing and proved furthermore that he is one of the most versitile and gifted artists out there today. But then I found there was much more there, and I honestly very impressed by the story. Straight out of 1988, this "cosmic" tale is typical of the time, and today seen as cliche', but it is still very ...

Dreadstar vol. 1 part 1
This is an excellent story from Jim Starlin's peak. I enjoyed the mix of action with reasonably subtle social and political satire. Definitely worth picking up, along with vol. 2 which completes the first 12 issues of the run.

An essential collection for an overlooked character
In some respects, the stories are not terribly complex: Ghost Rider travels across the country, chases bad guys and punishes them. However, there is real drama between Johnny Blaze and the Ghost Rider, as the spirit's real personality starts to come to life, and takes a toll on Blaze's personal life. Highly recommended.

Another Batman Classic!
Okay, when DC was planning this storyline they knew they were treading into new territory. It would be a controversial time in the comics industry where the companies wanted to get more mature with their readers.DC lead a campaign in whicn the fans would vote to either kill Robin(Jason Todd,Dick Grayson's predecessor)or to let him live at the end of the story.Long story short, the Joker ends up ...

Defending good taste in comic books
Essential Defenders Volume II: from the very start (the confrontation with Magneto and his Brotherhood of Evil Mutants in issues 15 and 16, by far the best ones there) to the ending (Tapping Tommy and the Maggia goons in issue 30) it's a hit!!! Fine storytelling and artwork (especially by a certain Mr. Buscema), rather interesting characters and the "non-team status" that made this a supergroup ...

If you are a Marvel comics fan this is superb value for money. The next chapter in a great collection of stories.
Marvel Two-In-One was an opportunity for Marvel to continue on the "Team-Up" bandwagon of the 70s using The Thing as the stable character throughout. While the first volume of this collection dealt mostly with one-shot stories, this second volume picks up as the series had started to catch its stride. There are several stories that spread out over multiple issues, and we see the inclusion of such ...
