Hendrix: Are You Experienced? The Jimi Hendrix Experience Guitar Tabulature 1 review Jimi Hendrix
Hal Leonard, 1989
Most useful hendrix book ever. This is the most thorough and exact tab book. I love how it has the tabs for bass and drums too. This helped me and my band perform Jimi's music most accuratly. This is a great companion to the album. If you play guitar and love JImi Hendrix than this is the ultimate book for you!

Blue Wild Angel: Jimi Hendrix Live at the Isle of Wight (Tab) 3 reviews Jimi Hendrix
Hal Leonard Corporation, 2005
Hendrix = Legend Jimi hendrix's style I have to say is one of the most flexible and purest there is. He has different version's of his songs and "isle of wight" will show you what I'm talking about. If you compare "Red House" from woodstock to wight..the woodstock's version sounds more bright/happy than the wight. I think it also comes from his mood.

Jimi Hendrix - Are You Experienced 1 review Jimi Hendrix
Hal Leonard Corporation, 2000
4 1/2 For Those With No (or Little) Experience This book from the Hendrix family company, "Experience Hendrix," and distributed by sheet music specialist Hal Leonard, contains signature notation for the treble and bass clefs, and, most importantly, tablature notation for the bass clef. Signature notation uses the standard notes and symbols one see on most written music. The advantage is that it conveys rhythm as well as notes; the ...

Jimi Hendrix - Experience Hendrix 8 reviews Jimi Hendrix
Hal Leonard Corporation, 1998
Precise and detailed This is a great work- I am wholeheartedly impressed.
The transcriptions here are full scores, meaning that every instrument played on each studio recording is notated in sheet music and then tabbed out in the language of that instrument. There is also about a half page description before each song discussing its unique features and mechaincs.
The guitarist who is interested in ...

Electric Ladyland - Guitar Tablature 5 reviews Jimi Hendrix
Hal Leonard Corporation, 1989
a trip through electric ladyland this is a truly amazing representation of the works of jimi hendrix. i played the tabs right along with the music and it matches perfectly for the most part. of course there are always a few discrepencies, but no one can or ever will be able to match what the rock 'n roll gypsy himself did, especially not on paper. i would recommend anyone who is interested in learning to play like hendrix to ...

Jimi Hendrix: Blues 4 reviews Jimi Hendrix
Hal Leonard Corporation, 1994
Blues You Can Use! This is Jimi's quintessential blues album, with covers of great standards and true-to-form originals. His rendition of 'Born Under a Bad Sign' is quite satisfying, with its string scratching, chordal rolls, and tasty wah-wah treatment.
Then there's the climactic highlight of 'Here My Train A Comin' (electric)' from his 5/70 Berkley concert - a performance thought by many, to be Jimi's most ...

Jimi Hendrix - Live at Woodstock 1 review Jimi Hendrix
Hal Leonard Corporation, 1995
Hey, like put down the brown acid, man! This folio is excellent! And with it you can scare all the Republicans in your neighborhood, by rousing the outspoken spirit of Country Joe - "Gimme an Ef!"
I believe Jimi plays the 'Star Spangled Banner' here in 'C', with a sort of 'nuclear detonation at ground zero' flair. Although I play it in 'A', with a sort of 'Roy Buchanan' flair. Either way is fine. Unless of course you're a ...

Are You Experienced? 6 reviews
Hal Leonard Publishing Corporation, 1996
This Is The Copy To Own If you've known only the US version of Are You Experienced, you really need to pick this baby up. The British LP on Track Records was released before the US version on Reprise. The British LP did not contain the popular songs released as singles (Hey Joe, Purple Haze, The Wind Cries Mary) but did have tunes that were not found on the US version (Red House, Can You See Me, Remember). These ...

Jimi Hendrix - Signature Licks 10 reviews Jimi Hendrix
Hal Leonard Corporation, 1996
If you wanna learn hendrix's secrets, here's THE book. This is probably the single best source out there to truly learn Hendrix's techniques and secrets on his most famous recordings. I've been playing quite a long time, and I have already learned a great deal from this well laid out text/CD. I copied all of the tracks into iTunes, so I can easily access different peices of the example tracks.
This book will improve your playing techniques and ...

Cherokee Mist: The Lost Writings 3 reviews Jimi Hendrix
Perennial, 1994
an intersting look at the lost writings of Jimi Hendrix. This book features long lost artwork. writing and lyrics by the man himself: Jimi Hendrix. It is an impressive collection of different pieces of this legendary artist's short but brilliant life. Jimi's handwritten lyrics and artwork take you to a place that only a select few have seen and known about, until now. This book is like reading a bible on Hendrix and his life. It's so personal and ...

Experience Hendrix - Book One: Beginning Guitar Method (Experience Hendrix) 8 reviews Jimi Hendrix, Michael Johnson
Hal Leonard Corporation, 1998
A great book for beginners This is a great book for beginners (4.5*). While it will not teach you everying, it covers most of the basics(although the minor pentatonic scale box is conspicuously absent) and surprisingly concisely. It is very attractively formated and includes a useful CD. By focusing on the music of well known Jimi Hendrix tracks the beginner can feel real meaningful progress from the start. There is also ...

Jimi Hendrix Experience - Smash Hits: Guitar Play-Along Volume 47 (Hal Leonard Guitar Play-Along) 6 reviews Jimi Hendrix
Hal Leonard Corporation, 2006
This book converted me It's true, this book is AMAZING! I got it as a gift, and instead of returning it decided to give it a shot. The transcriptions are clean and easy to follow. The Play-along CD is enhanced so if you put it in your PC you can slow down the tempo without changing the pitch. Plus, the recordings are very true to the originals, and the backing band sounds great. I feel like I sound much better playing ...

Jimi Hendrix-A Musician's Collection (Piano-Vocal-Guitar Series) 2 reviews Jimi Hendrix
Hal Leonard Corporation, 1991
A very good all around book this book has a pretty well rounded approach to teaching you how to be, well, Jimi. It teaches vocals, guitars and piano as well. For those who want a memorabilia for jimi, this is it. For those who want to learn how Jimi plays, try another book, as this does not concentrate purely on guitar playing.

Like wow! I'm on Saturn looking out at Uranus! Wrap your thumb around that neck and get busy! This folio to the CD 'South Saturn Delta' compiles cuts from 'Rainbow Bridge', 'Loose Ends', and 'War Heros' (all long out of print); along with alternate takes of album cuts and unreleased material.
The theme of the tune 'Message to the Universe', provided the melodic framework for a large portion of the obscure album 'Nine to the Universe'. ...

Jimi Hendrix - Musician 7 reviews Keith Shadwick, Jimi Hendrix
Backbeat Books, 2003
The 'bookest' book on Hendrix I would like to recommend Keith Shadwick's "The Musician" because IMHO it tops everything that was written so far on Jimi.(I'm not bribed by the publishers,by the way). It's very informative, very objective with lots of eyecatching photos. Plus the designer layout ( which makes it look beautiful either on your bookshelf or on a coffee table even if not read :) ;)
What makes it more interesting ...

Hey! C'mere! Yeah baby! It's the Summer of Love! Get this folio if you want accurate transcriptions of Hendrix' unique 1967 work, containing an interesting array of his better known songs, covers, and blues.
A glaring ommission here is 'Driving South', performed thrice on the album, with one scintillating version (disc 1/track 17) being contained in Hal Leonard's 'Radio One' folio. Also missing over the 'Radio One' folio are the songs 'Love ...
