The Rancher and the Runaway Bride (Silhouette Desire, No 779) 3 reviews Joan Johnston
Silhouette, 1993
:) Tate Whitelaw is the youngest of the Hawk's Way Whitelaws and she is also the only girl. Tate has three very overprotective big brothers. At the age twenty-three Tate runs away and right into the arms of Adam Philips. Adam was first introduced to us in Honey and the Hired Hand, when he was in love with Honey, the woman who eventually married Tates brother Jesse. Tate does not know that Jesse, ...

Lone Star Christmas ... And Other Gifts 4 reviews Diana Palmer, Joan Johnston
Silhouette, 1999
Typical Diana Palmer This is a book with four short stories in it. The Joan Johnston ones are boring and not worth reading. My advice for the doctor who finds a pregnant woman crying in a closet - leave her there. The two Palmer ones are unrealistic in thier plots, but are fun to read. They are written in typical Diana Palmer style. If you like her style, then these two stories are for you.

Frontier Woman (Sisters of the Lone Star, Vol 1) 17 reviews Joan Johnston
Pocket Books, 1988
A really great story! I thought this was a well written story. It is filled with lots of history and some frontier realities. It has the makings of a wonderful story with strained feelings of love, old enemies and betrayal. The main characters are Creed and Cricket but the story is also very full of Crickets two sisters, her father and Creeds brother Tom and his wife Amy. It's a book that, once started, is very ...

Temporary Groom (Hawk'S Way) (Silhouette Desire, No 1004) 2 reviews Joan Johnston
Silhouette, 1996
:) This book from the Hawk's Way series is about Cherry Whitelaw, the last adopted child of Zach and Rebecca Whitelaw (from the book The Disobediant Bride). Like all the other sets of siblings in the Hawk's Way series Zach and Rebecca's children are known in Texas as the Whitelaw brats. Cherry always seems to be getting in trouble. She hates to see the hurt and disappointment that she causes her ...

Abduction & Seduction 5 reviews Diana Palmer, Joan Johnston, ...
Silhouette, 1995
GREAT CATCH UP STORY OF HANK - LONG TALL TEXANS I do agree - Hank's story should have been longer -- but it was still excellent. Hank Shoeman, of the Desperado Rock group and song writer, is being spied upon, probably by a sensation seeking reporter in his Colorado retreat. He is going to protect Amanda Sutton [of Sutton's Way] from the press as she is having a difficult time with her pregnancy. He grins, as he decides to abduct the reporter. ...

Cowboy Takes A Wife (Hawk'S Way) (Silhouette Desire, No 842) 2 reviews Joan Johnston
silhouette, 1994
:) In this Hawk's Way book the Whitelaws branch out. This is the story of Faron Whitelaw's step brother Carter. We were introduced to Carter in 'The Wrangler and the Rich Girl' when he was interested in purchasing his fathers estate. This story picks up on the exact night that he came to town. Desiree was also first intorduced in the previous book when she came to Faron and Belindas party, she ...

The Rivals: A Bitter Creek Novel 11 reviews Joan Johnston
Wheeler Publishing, 2004
Fast-paced, romantic, suspenseful - Overall Excellant Read I highly recommend this book to any Nora Roberts fan, BUT first read The Cowboy, The Texan, The Loner, and The Price (all by Joan Johnston). This was the first Joan Johnston book I ever read, which hurried me to read more. After reading this book, I went on to read the rest of the Blackthorne/Creed/Grayhawk stories (I only wish I had read them first and then this one). I am a huge Nora Roberts ...

The Next Mrs. Blackthorne: A Bitter Creek Novel 5 reviews Joan Johnston
Pocket, 2005
A Great Read Joan Johnston has done it again - drawn us into the bitter feud between the Grayhawks and Blackthornes and wrapped us in the not-to-be-denied emotional bond between Libby Grayhawk and Clay Blackthorne.
At eighteen, Kate Grayhawk is still waging a campaign to get her parents together and married. One big stumbling block - Jocelyn Montrose, sister to Clay's late wife and now his fiancee. When ...

The Texan 13 reviews Joan Johnston
Dell, 2001
A contempory western filled with twists, turns and emotions. The Bitter Creek trilogy begins with the cowboy (which I haven't read), the Texan, and finally the Loner. The Texan stands alone very well although I would advise reading it before going on to the final book, the loner. The book is so filled with plots that is certainly holds your interest. In fact I've found myself looking ahead several times to see what happens to a character. The other reviews ...

Comanche Woman (2nd in Sisters of Lone Star) 22 reviews Joan Johnston
Pocket, 1989
What a GREAT BOOK! I read the negative reviews on Comanche Woman so I was a little apprehensive but I read Frontier Woman so I decided to go for it. I did not feel at all like some of the other reviewers. I thought it was a wonderful love story. Long Quiet is a strong yet tender man who is torn between two worlds. Being half comanche he has stayed true to that side of his heritage. But Bay Stewart changes all ...
