This book provides a great amount of information on a wide variety of hot topics in contemporary astronomy, such as cosmology, AGNs, GRBs, and dark matter. My only complaint is that the material does tend to slant towards extragalactic astronomy. However, otherwise the material is extremely useful for someone looking for fresh material to work on.
