Behind Enemy Lines: The Dominion War, Book 1 (Star Trek: The Next Generation) 42 reviews John Vornholt
Star Trek, 1998
Finally the Dominion Since I began reading a variety of Star Trek Books it became clear that The Dominion War was a central event. Virtually all of the books I had read referred to the war with The Dominion, so it was clear this 4 part series was important to putting many other books in their proper perspective, The second in the series is going to switch to the setting of Deep Space 9 but this first book spends its ...

Masks (Star Trek The Next Generation, No 7) 12 reviews John Vornholt
Star Trek, 1991
One of TNG's top five This was one of the first Trek books I'd read. For me it started kind of slow and I'd even put it down for a while. When I'd picked it up again and started anew from the beginning, I couldn't believe I'd ever put it down. This is the one that put Vornholt on the map in the Trek novel world. Extremely good character development and carry through. It was wonderful to see Captain Picard in a ...

Tony Hillerman lite I savored this book a little longer than the previous 2. I loved the scene where Willow was playing poker. This book is Tony Hillerman lite. If you've read any of his mysteries, you'll know what I mean.

The Genesis Wave Book Two (Star Trek The Next Generation) 14 reviews John Vornholt
Star Trek, 2001
STNG The Genesis Wave II - A fitting conclusion...! As with the first book in this phenomenal series, "The Genesis Wave" book two is a continuation of author John Vornholt's finest work in the Star Trek genre to date. Just as in the first exceptional novel, his visualizations, plot setup and pacing is absolutely "spot on" perfect, lending greatly to a very fast and enjoyable read. Although I read a lot of books in the Star Trek genre, I can say ...

The Troll King 9 reviews John Vornholt
Thorndike Press, 2003
The Troll King. I liked this book because it had mystical creatures like trolls, ogres, gnomes, fairys, elves, giant toads, and wizards. The Troll King is very adventurous and a real cool book. This book is about a troll called Rollo who is 14 and is really bulked up. Rollo goes on many different adventures. It all started when Rollo and Crawfleece(sister)goes to skim the hole(round body of water in middle of ...

Aftershock (Star Trek: Star Fleet Academy) 2 reviews John Vornholt
Aladdin, 1996
McCoy to a tee! This was an excellent piece of penmenship. It fit the charcters Spock and McCoy really well. The appearence by Kirk was a great idea. The part with McCoy's father at the end was a pleasant surprise. I also liked the part about how the girl McCoy liked was already taken by the troublemaker Jim Kirk. Keep up the good writing Jon Vornholt!
Also another excellent job by Todd Cameron ...

The Genesis Wave, Book Three (Star Trek: The Next Generation) 17 reviews John Vornholt
Star Trek, 2003
What happened?!!? I was also going to title this review "ARRGGGHHHH!!!!". After two solidly-plotted books, the Genesis Wave saga falls completely to pieces with this third book. A Bajoran Priest steals a Genesis device, believing it to be the Orb of Life. The Enterprise, teams up with Admiral Necheyev and a small band of mercenaries to retrieve it. It's a good premise, but character-wise the result is such an ...

War Drums (Star Trek The Next Generation, No 23) 9 reviews John Vornholt
Star Trek, 1992
STNG #23 War Drums - An excellent Vornholt novel! From early experiences with John Vornholt and his excellent writing style that is so very fluid, one learns that one of his novels are to be looked forward to with great anticipation. "War Drums" is no exception to that general rule. If I were to rank the early Star Trek The Next Generation novels, up to the release date of "War Drums," I'd definitely have to rank it in the top five. As is true ...

Star Trek The Next Generation: The Genesis Wave : Book One 34 reviews John Vornholt
Simon & Schuster Audio, 2003
When "let there be light!" has a negative effect... As a Star Trek books fan, I'm not one who likes books that dwell needlessly on series continuity. I picked up the Genesis Wave books, by John Vornholt, because they looked interesting and they are another link from the Original Series (TOS) to the Next Generation (TNG). I was hoping that it wouldn't be wallowing in continuity, and surprisingly, it doesn't. Instead, we get a rollicking ...

The Return #3 (Flight 29 Down) 1 review John Vornholt
Grosset & Dunlap, 2006
Really Surprisine I was pleasantly surprised by this book series. All the books are well written and very enjoyable for any age. I'd seen a couple of episodes on tv and then my little brother bought book 1 at the book fair. Loved them all. Its got your mystery, suspence, romantic entaglements (teenage romance), adventure and lots more. It shows that everything takes team work. Very good series for young kids.

Capture the Flag: A NOVEL (Star Trek the Next Generation) 3 reviews John Vornholt
Aladdin, 1994
Great Book! This book is very appropriate for the stated reading level. It is very beautifully written and is most probably the best of the series. I enjoyed the intricate use of various phrases and how the plot slowly developed to allow the protagonists to overcome any difficulties that they faced. If you read this book, I would suggest other books by the same author. The style persists.
