A Visible Darkness 13 reviews Jonathon King
Onyx, 2004
King does it again. There are a couple small weaknesses in this book: you know the killer, which does lessen the suspense, and the protagonist is physically described by seeing himself in a mirror. But I forgive those flaws as King has created a story which builds layer upon layer, showing the motive for the killings and who is behind them. The book is full of interesting characters, including Max and Billy, ...

The Burning of the Styx 1 review Jonathon King
Amazon.com, 2005
Good, however author should have made the climax more intresting. Definitely a good story, at such a low cost. Where the way the story was framed it creates a picture in your mind, like running movie. However , I strongly feel that the climax could have been more intresting. Further, the way environment and the scenes were described is really great.
Anyways the story is worth reading. Kudos...

A definite page turner. Crime reporter Nick Mullins is still trying to hold life together after a driver killed his wife and one of his twin daughters in a car accident. It is particularly hard now that the driver has been released from prison. But a distraction comes when a sniper kills a prisoner on the jailhouse steps. When another sniper shooting takes place, Mullins begins to realize the victims were both ...

Enjoyed the book I really enjoyed this book and plan to read some of the authors other books. I really love a good mystery. This reminded me of the James Lee Burke series of detective stories.

Acts of Nature 9 reviews Jonathon King
Dutton Adult, 2007
Max Freeman Meets The "Perfect Storm" Jonathon King continues his fine work with his Max Freeman character in "Acts of Nature". Max Freeman, ex-cop and current PI, has developed into an exciting, must read addition to the South Florida subgenre. King is a master at using the written word to paint visual images of the everglades and the people who live in them but in "Acts of Nature" his extraordinary description of a massive ...

Shadow Men 21 reviews Jonathon King
Thorndike Press, 2004
4.5 - 5 Stars - I have become a big fan of King's work. It's the characters, dialogue and sense of place that draws me in and keep me there page after page. Max and Billy are great characters with a strong, involving history. The secondary characters are interesting, rich and dimensional. The contrast between the city and the Everglades, as well as the time Freeman's spends on the water between the two, adds an atmosphere and richness to the story. ...
