Feminine Writes: Women, Wisdom, & Writing2 reviews
Sheri' McConnell, Julie Ann Halick

The McConnell Group, 2003

Women, Wisdom and Writing
Reviewed by Carolyn Howard-Johnson, award-winning author of "This is the Place" and "Harkening: A Collection of Stories Remembered" Women, Wisdom and Writing are three very big Ws. This is an apt subtitle for "Feminine Writes," a kind of writing genre all its own. Compiled by Sheri' McConnell, president and founder of the National Association of Women Writers, this book is a little ...

Robert Rauschenberg : A Retrospective4 reviews
Robert Rauschenberg, Susan Davidson, ...

Harry N. Abrams, 1997

Wonderful, though more text than I wanted
I was very pleased by the large number of high-quality reproductions. Still, as far as I'm concerned there should have been *more*. The book contains (a rough count) about 280 pages containing text or mostly text, out of about 630 total pages. However, I'm very happy with the book.

The Scorecard: How to Fix Your Man in One Year or Less8 reviews
Julie Bell, Donna Brown, ...

Gotham, 2006

This book is a "MUST READ" for all married couples.
If only my husband and I had access to this book when we first got married; it would have been so much easier for us to develop the communication and financial skills that help make a good marriage. This blueprint is exceptionally easy to understand and the core messages are repeated enough throughout the book that you eventually memorize them. If you asked me to define the core messages ...

The Sleepover Cookbook5 reviews

A parent's dream come true
I am an educator and a parent of two. I fell in love with this book the moment I opened it. Not only is it a fun book with great, easy recipes, but it is developmentally appropriate. The recipes give the children a sense of pride and success and is a great self-esteem booster. The meals and snacks are nutritious and gives me a night off from cooking once in awhile. This book is a treasure.

NZ Tour Guide
NZ definition of luxury is different from USA definition. Stayed in Victorian Hotel in Rotorua that got rave review in this book, the room we had was very ordinary and the bathroom was very old and run down. Very disappointing. Even though the hotel is about 100 yrs old, it does not have to look rundown. Stayed in Boutique hotel in Hamilton, very nice but not up to US Boutique standards. Best ...

Moon Take a Hike Los Angeles: Hikes Within Two Hours of the City (Moon Outdoors)1 review
Ann Marie Brown, Julie Sheer

Avalon Travel Publishing, 2006

Serious Hikes for Serious Walkers
Los Angeles has a lot of neat countryside to explore if you know where to look. When I first came to the LA basin from Idaho, I was overwhelmed by the suburban sprawl, but I quickly found lots of nice outdoor experiences nearby. This book will help anyone else looking to escape the city for a few hours (or days). It features over 80 hikes all within 2 hours of LA. I've hiked about a third ...

Much better than "The Secret Garden"
This book reminds me a lot of "The Secret Garden" without being quite as preachy and overly descriptive. My two daughters absolutely love this book and consider it one of their favorites.

Summoned to Destiny (Realms of Wonder)1 review

Fitzhenry and Whiteside, 2004

Not Free SF Reader
A minor-league fantasy anthology, if you like. The class of this book is Michelle West's longish novella 'The Colours of Augustine', the rest is pretty average, barring Kevin MacLean's final dream guardian tale. There's nothing to indicate that this was specifically supposed to be a kid's book, but it is possible I suppose, from the simple content. Summoned To Destiny : Tangled Pages - M. ...

Quick Reference to Wound Care1 review
Pamela A. Brown, Julie Phelps Maloy, ...

Jones & Bartlett Publishers, 2000

Not Bad, but...
The colored photos are in the back of the book, where the same photos in black and white are sprinkled throughout the text making it a bit aggreviating to go back and forth throughout the book. Otherwise, I think it is a great summary of the information needed for wound care.
