The Ethics of Human Gene Therapy1 review
LeRoy Walters, Julie Gage Palmer

Oxford University Press, USA, 1996

Solid and compelling
Walters and Palmer present here a solid argument regarding the impending technology of human gene therapy. They walk through the science carefully, but the core of the book is on the development of criteria for when trials in gene therapy would be acceptable. While this reviewer does not agree with every stand they take, the book will be a classic in the ethics of gene therapy because of its ...

Edward Hopper and the American Imagination1 review
Deborah Lyons, Edward Hopper, ...

W. W. Norton & Company, 1997

It was well-written with excellent discription,and . . .
I believe that this was one of the greatest art books. This outstanding book displayed 59 of Hopper's greatest paintings with awesome detail and spectacular quotes. It not only showed the different ways Hopper defined and looked at life, but I could feel like I was the artist. Not only did the paintings create a perspective of life most people don't look at, but I could relate to his points of ...

BBC Audiobooks Ltd, 2000

Flippin Heck!!!
A wonderful version if you cannot watch this on the telly. I enjoy listening to Victoria Wood, Julie Walters, and all these wonderful "daft bats" on the cd player!!!! If you are familiar with this show, you will certainly enjoy these cds! Buying the scripts are also well worth it! I truly wish Victoria Wood made more....but they ended the second series with a very happy ending!!!! Enjoy!!

Robert Rauschenberg : A Retrospective4 reviews
Robert Rauschenberg, Susan Davidson, ...

Harry N. Abrams, 1997

Wonderful, though more text than I wanted
I was very pleased by the large number of high-quality reproductions. Still, as far as I'm concerned there should have been *more*. The book contains (a rough count) about 280 pages containing text or mostly text, out of about 630 total pages. However, I'm very happy with the book.

The Gingerbread Man1 review

Ladybird Books Ltd, 2003

Its a great story
This series of Ladybird books bring me back to when I was little and they were great and I hope that you will find them too. The Gingerbread Man was pretty good and it was nice. The series was very good too, and I hope that you will go to England where you can get them too. They were so good I think that you can go to the Library and check out some books or go to Grenada and get some books ...

Excellent for children of all ages
When I frst read the book I was amazed on how on target it was in teaching children the mysteries and truths about God. My children have enjoy reading it over and over. Talking Heads (BBC Radio Collection)5 reviews
Alan Bennett

BBC Audiobooks Ltd, 2001

The Teddy Bear with Laser Eyes
Alan Bennett has been called England's National Teddy Bear, so beloved is his work and person. It's a sweet moniker, but misleading to those who may not have yet read Bennett. Insightful and compassionate with a wit so sharp it effectively amputates sentimentality, this is a Teddy Bear with laser eyes and sharp claws that are only just retracted. Bennett's character sketches in Talking Heads are ...

Prince Charming49 reviews
Julie Garwood

Audioworks, 2001

A book to lose yourself in!
Everything you could want in a romance novel - two very likable leading characters with plenty of steamy chemistry between them, a couple of interesting sidekicks, a villain or two, and a great story with plenty of action. A keeper!

Baby Talk1 review
Julie Walters

Time Warner Paperbacks, 2000

Side splittin' funny
I read this book in an hour. It's such a simple book and easy to read. Basically, it's just about Julie Walters experiences, at the grand old age of 37 (and a half, don't forget the half) of a first time pregnancy. Injected with large doses of her humour. Even if her baby does end up looking very similar to a baby Rupert Grint. Beware if you read this around another person (in my case it was ...

The Greening of Industry Resource Guide and Bibliography (The Greening of Industry Network Series)1 review

Island Press, 1995

Useful reference but only good through 1996
This was a handy resource to corporate greening up to 1996 when it was published. I still find it useful as a reference but obviously it needs a successor, now that we're in corporate greening 2.0 where climate change has fused "green" with "energy" and "sustainability." It's worth having on the shelf in company libraries, but where it stops, readers will have to go to the Web
