Star Palate: Celebrity Cookbook For A Cure33 reviews
Tami Agassi

Documentary Media, 2004

Good Food and Two Great Causes
I've tried many of the recipes and they have come out very well so far. My favorites are the shepherd's pie, watermelon salad with fennel and the Mandarin Star martini. The proceeds from this book benefit ovarian and breast cancer research and that alone makes this cook book one of my all time favorites. Add that to the ease and great taste of the recipes and you have a true gem. The recipes ...

Kathy Casey's Northwest Table: Oregon, Washington, British Columbia, Southern Alaska7 reviews
Kathy Casey

Chronicle Books, 2006

Always beautiful!
I just picked up Kathy Casey's new book and I love it. I must admit that I am one of those cooks that needs pictures to entice me to make something and Kathy's cookbooks always have them. Her salad recipes are to die for. So many salads are just so bland, but the Endive salad with Roasted pears is amazing. I'm also a big fan of her French Seasoning salt. I put it on everything!

Pacific Northwest: The Ultimate Winery Guide: Oregon, Washington, and British Columbia5 reviews
Christina Melander

This is a great book
As the title says the Ultimate winery guide. As in the best not just another winery guide. If you are interested in a guide book of all the wineries in the NW then this is not the book for you. If you want to know what everyone would consider 30 great wineries than buy this book. The photos are amazing and you get a true sense of what it takes to build a great winery.

Retro Food Fiascos: A Collection of Curious Concoctions3 reviews

Diane Pub Co, 2004

How to make all the foods you prayed you'd never see again
I thought Retro Food Fiascos was nothing more than a blatant ripoff of James Lileks's "Gallery of Regrettable Food". The cover art, the typeface, even the design of the book, are very reminiscent of Lileks's oeuvre, and I expected it to be nothing more than a tired retread of the Lileks book with the same dull wit and the same snide, sardonic comments. I was wrong. This book is so much ...
