Nice book for child of traveling parent
Someone suggested this book for our kids when my wife found out she had to go on a week long business trip. I read this cute and comforting book to our 3 year-old while mommy was gone. The art work and the textual content are well done.

When I Feel Good About Myself (The Way I Feel)2 reviews

Good book for a child perfectionist
My five year old daughter was having a problem with trying to be a perfectionist. It was making her extremely anxious. This book sends the right message that nobody has to be perfect. As soon as I read this book to her, she loved it and has wanted to take it to bed with her every night. Whenever she wants to read to herself, I see her grab this book. It's hard to find a book for a ...

When I Feel Jealous (Way I Feel Books)3 reviews
Cornelia Maude Spelman

Albert Whitman & Company, 2005

MY DAUGHTER LOVES THIS BOOK!!!
My daughter, 2 1/2, loves these series. I read all the "When I Feel" books to her every night - she especially likes "When I Feel Jealous" and I think it's because she has a new baby sister that she is noticeably jealous of. She has me read this particular book to her all day. Anyway, I would recommend these books to all.

Excellent Excellent Book for toddlers
I bought this book for my two yr old while going through a separation. He says "mom, I sad." I read him this book on the situaiton at hand & it is right to the point & simple for toddlers to understand. Its about a bear family and no matter where daddy is or mama is, they always love you. No matter that there are two houses now, mama & daddy still think about you. AND in no way is this separation ...

When I Feel Sad (The Way I Feel Books)4 reviews
Cornelia Maude Spelman

You can see empathy in my daughter when reading this
She loves the "When I Feel" series - These are the only books she picks out of the plethora of books to choose from. When I read to her and turn pages, she will have me stop at a particular page (when they lose something valuable to them), she says, "Oh, kiss" - gives a kiss then "big hug" - leans her body towards the character pretending to hug him. Very cute (hard to explain via text). She ...

Paper Chain2 reviews

Health Press (NM), 1998

A top pick for children coping with cancer in the family
This is one of the best books we found when our family was dealing with a recent cancer diagnosis. It is sensitive and caring and provides concrete examples for positive steps families can take to help children cope successfully with a tough situation. Appropriate for our children, aged 3,5, and 7, it is a book even adults will appreciate. We have used the "Paper Chain" concept to reach out ...

A Healing Salve
What I have to say is complex, yet simple. I was a bedwetter who had tried everything, my parents tried the best they could to help. I wet the bed until I was sixteen years old. I was unable to do sleepovers like other children. At sixteen and deeply emotionally scarred I stopped wetting and was still hurting from the years of embarrasment. At the age of 20 I was volunteering in a library and ...

Maribeth Boelts

Albert Whitman & Company, 2001

Where's the Love for This?
This book, written by Maribeth Boelts and illustrated by Kathy Parkinson, doesn't seem to have gotten much attention. Which is too bad, because this is a great story about a having a new sibling in the family. In this story, Little Bunny is excited when he learns he's going to be a big brother. He asks all sorts of questions and can't wait for the baby to come. But when it finally does come, ...
