William Oncken

Prentice Hall Trade, 1987

THE ONLY MANAGEMENT BOOK YOU NEED TO READ
I started my management career in 1970 and was lucky to have attended a 2 day seminar in 1972 from William Oncken and I have read all his books. Once you read his work you quickly realize that you never have to read another management book again. His understanding of human nature and the real dynamics of organizations is profound. His work is as relavant now as it was 30 years ago. This is a must ...

The One Minute Manager164 reviews
Kenneth H. Blanchard, Spencer Johnson

William Morrow, 1982

Management musts!
The One Minute Manager is an oldie and a goodie. It's been a fun book to watch over the years as new generations of managers entering the workforce are exposed to it. I recently bought a copy for a new manager that reports to me, and bought the Amazon recommended title Squawk!: How to Stop Making Noise and Start Getting Results along with it. It turns out Squawk! is a new book that's also for ...

Management of Organizational Behavior (9th Edition)15 reviews
Paul H Hersey, Kenneth H Blanchard, ...

Prentice Hall, 2007

Terrific book! Not your regular textbook.
I do not have a lot of time because I am in a masters in education program so I will be short and to the point. This was a required book for a class, but I was quite pleasantly surprised to discover that this book is actually quite well written. Some parts are even amusing. As I said, not your regular textbook! It is also chock full of pithy quotations. Enjoy!

Understanding Monkey's Makes better Ministers!
The staff of a large Church studied the One Minute Manager Meets the Monkey. They found in unbelievable funny. Indentifying the next move in identifying monkeys from each other and members made the work more fun. Just understanding the next move as a monkey became funny instead of accepting chores or somebody else' MONKEY. At my final luncheon each one gleefully receive a key chain of a ...

The One Minute Manager Gets Fit1 review
Kenneth H. Blanchard, D. W. Edington, ...

William Morrow & Co, 1986

A quick guide to being productive by taking time for other things
I consider it a very good thing that one minute manager guru Ken Blanchard wrote this book. Unfortunately, it may not be taken all that seriously. In it, he argues that taking time out to relax and exercise increases efficiency. It clears the mind and blood vessels, making the time you spend working more productive because you have more energy and are better able to focus. There are two ...
