the Enemy Within45 reviews
Larry Bond

Vision, 1997

reading is believing.
Clancy has his hands full when anything comes out by Bond. The Enemy Within is just a great book to grab, buy and read! Un-down-putable! Its the only way to describe all of his books. If you are a reader and haven't read any books by Larry Bond. DO IT and see why!

Vortex35 reviews
Larry Bond, Patrick Larkin

Warner Books, Inc., 1992

Vortex - Superb political/military thriller!
From Tom Clancy's Red Storm Rising collaborator and best selling novelist in his own right, in his first novel Red Phoenix, we are treated to Larry Bond's second masterpiece in military/political thriller fiction in Vortex. Larry Bond once again proves his research capability in his studies of all of the cultures of South Africa and their strengths and differences. He has once again, melded his ...

Larry Bond's First Team: Angels of Wrath (Larry Bond's First Team)7 reviews
Larry Bond, Jim DeFelice

Forge Books, 2006

Not the same
I have been a big fan of Bond's for years. However, when good authors take on "co writers" I get the idea the co writer does the books. I have seen this with several other Authors. This doesn't even seem like a Larry Bond book. It is worth reading but I wish I had gotten at library rather than buying. I hope Mr Bond goes back to writing books himslelf even in this series. Thanks

Larry Bond's First Team: Fires of War (Larry Bond's First Team)6 reviews
Larry Bond, Jim DeFelice

Forge Books, 2007

Interesting plot
I try to read novels dealing with nuclear weapons, the genera I write in. The plot is built around extracting Pu-239 from spent nuclear reactor fuel rods. Uranium-235 or U-238 is used to make fuel pellets for a nuclear reactor. After a period of time, the fuel pellets are removed from the reactor and placed in a cooling pond, as the authors describe in the book. A small portion of uranium in ...

Larry Bond's First Team: Soul of the Assassin (Larry Bond's First Team)
Larry Bond, Jim DeFelice

Forge Books, 2008

When the CIA is tipped off that one of its most wanted men is going to be in Bologna, Italy, Ferg and the First Team are tasked to apprehend him at any cost--but under no circumstances can Italian authorities be made aware. There is just one problem: no one has seen the man in over ten years, and he is only known by a decades-old code-name: T-Rex. This assassin has been involved in the murder of at least a dozen prominent western leaders, and ...

The Mighty Fallen: Our Nation's Greatest War Memorials1 review
Larry Bond, F-stop Fitzgerald

Collins, 2007

A pictorial tribute
A wonderful book, although by no means definitive. It includes wonderful photography of many of the U.S. military's most important monuments (as well as some Canadian ones). The only fault I see with the book is that almost all of the monuments are on the East Coast, whereas there are many significant monuments at military posts in the west which should have been included.

Dangerous Ground by Larry Bond
Excellent book that will keep you on the edge of your seat from start to finish. If you like military fiction you'll love this book.

Red Phoenix57 reviews
Larry Bond

Grand Central Publishing, 1990

Red Phoenix by Larry Bond
This is a war fiction classic that I rate even with Tom Clancy's "Hunt for Red October" and "Red Storm Rising." Larry Bond brings to life a real war scenario. We know from the Gulf War he was a visionary when he wrote "Red Phoenix."

Cauldron42 reviews
Larry Bond, Patrick Larkin

Vision, 1994

Europe turns into a "Cauldron" of war in this novel....
The end of the Cold War and the collapse of the Soviet Union in 1991 was a blessing in disguise not only for the Pentagon but for writers of military fiction. Just as the armed services have had to develop new doctrines, strategies, tactics, and weapons systems to contend with new enemies (potential and real), authors such as Tom Clancy, Stephen Coonts, Harold Coyle, and Larry Bond have had to ...

Larry Bond's First Team17 reviews
Larry Bond

Forge Books, 2005

gritty and edgy
A lot of people did not like this book. Folks you could do much worse. This book moves quite fast and you need to pay attention otherwise, you will lose the plot. The writing style for this book reflects the anxiety of the main characters as they track the components for a dirty bomb through Central Asia. If that was the intent then the authors achieved their goal. However, I think they ...

Combat, Vol. 1 (Combat)15 reviews

Forge Books, 2002

War: on earth, in outer space, and in cyberspace
"Combat, Volume 3" is edited with an introduction by Stephen Coonts. This book collects four short novels in the genre of military fiction. The first piece is "Cyberknights," by Harold Coyle. This tale looks into the work of a unit of U.S. Army computer specialists who wage war on the electronic frontier. Although the Internet is their vehicle, their warfare has real world consequences. ...

Day of Wrath43 reviews
Larry Bond

Vision, 1999

This is NOT your typical James Bond story
I almost gave this book 5 stars. The action is there, non stop. Peter Thorn really knows how to keep moving. Helen Gray was so manly that she might as well be just another guy helping Peter out. After all, it seems they don't know what to do with each other. Their "intimate" moments are the only awkward parts of this book. An interesting part in this book is that an American undersecretary ...
