Really Helpful
It's a lot of help while you're going through your surgery rotation. As much as I would have liked to have read the text book, there isn't a lot of time due to the long hours of work. This book helps fill in the gaps. Some things might be too simplified, so it might be helpful to supplement with the required books.

ok but not stellar
Overall an ok book but not stellar. Seems a bit disorganized. Not alot of info that is not in rosen's. some things seem a little out of place.. like a chapter on pneumonia that is quite detailed. Would have liked a little more detail regarding nuances of the physical exam and diagnoses. I would have expected to get a little more info with more images since this was only about abdominal pain.... ...

Excellent book...
If you don't want to plow through 600+ pages of Beckmann, or some other text (i.e. you aren't aiming to specialize in OB/Gyn), you'll love this book. Information is well organized and easy to get through if you enjoy the First Aid format. I never liked the texts...I loved the BRS outline style and First Aid books. I haven't taken the shelf exam yet, but as for my last 2 months on the wards, ...

This is an excellent resource for your needs in Internal Medicine rotation. It delivers pertinent and well organized information. It also provides "pearls" relating to each subject area that bring the information down to practical application. It should not be your only source but definitely will complement the others.
