I strongly disagree with the negative reviews of this book. It is a very good book for a child who is growing up and is starting to be asked to take on more responsibility in his or her life, like school, chores etc. and may be having some difficulty in adjusting. Schlessinger uses many examples from her audiences through the years to give advice in her book. Although there are some good points to the book--determining consequences before taking action, doing the right thing and taking responsibility for one's actions--it is weakened dramatically by the books limited focus, the author's self-righteous attitude and a prescribed set of rigid behaviors.
