Excellent, thorough, and easy to read
As a moderately advanced student of astrology, I found this to be an excellent overview of planetary and sign meanings on a deeper level, with very insightful discussion of the relation between astrology and the soul. In my experience, it's often hit-or-miss when selecting astrology books, and I found this book to be a surprisingly quality read. I would definitely recommend it to anyone ...

What a delight this book is to read! Tucked in here and there are snipets of Linda Evans Shepherd's own twenty-year romance. There are some terrific stories by a few established authors. And thanks to Linda and Broadman & Holman Publishers, a large number of novice writers have an arena in which to showcase their very excellent stories. You won't be disappointed. And if you think men ...

More than just how to build a cob house
I love this book. I bought it expecting to get information on cob houses but the big bonus is it not only provides information on how to build a home but also includes viewpoints on living life and enjoying the process. I highly recommend the book even if you don't plan on building a cob house. This book will help you build a life!

A wonderful, easy-reading book about friendship
I've always considered myself a good friend, but through reading this book I've learned so much more about what it takes to be an encourager, a good listener, and a true friend. The author's analogies paint beautiful pictures that get her points across perfectly. I thought I would take my time reading this book but I couldn't put it down. A wonderful book on the subject of friendship.

mother, friend, brother, and a hell 'ov alot of firepower
This is probably the best bolo book, why? Supose you had a friend or mother who could recite poetry, play wargames, explore the meanings of the univers and kick out megatons of damage!! that is a bolo and in this book you will see that even a "dead" bolo can figure out a way to get the job done. An interesting point in this book is that in all but one of the stories the bolo is either massively ...

A story about cognitive skills
As a teacher, I am impressed with this story. A young girl faces a problem and , through her use of problem-solving skills, she solves it. And by doing so, she saves the life of a whale.

Absolutely ripping good!!!!!
Bad puns aside, I had to force myself to put this one down, in order to deal with necessities like work, food, sleep. This is the second half of the novel begun in "Ripping Time" and the climax(es) are superbly done. These two books would make an absolutely rousing mini-series.

Without doubt, the most complete & authoritative work on Bix
This work is the result of decades of dedicated and exhaustive work by Phil Evans and his wife and will stand as the finest work on Bix. Phil's previous work was used extensively in the Sudhalter book, and this work is the result of all of that plus an extrordinary amount of newly discovered material, includeing many letters from Bix himself. Many previously unseen photos as well. Phil ...

TRES BIEN!!!
The reader will be both entertained, and at the same time given pause to consider where there may be a "tangle" they need to consider in their own lives. Again I say Tres Bien!!! Here here! The perfect devotional gift for a closet mystery fan!

Even Better Than the First One!
I was very pleasantly surprised to find that the second book of the Potluck Club was even better than the first! The characters are very well rounded and interesting, deep and thoughtful. The ladies go through realistic trials and tribulations and progress and grow in realistic ways. I like that there are not "pat" answers to all the problems, but the ladies learn to trust God more in the midst ...

Keeps you wanting more
I just finished the third book of this series, having read all three since I bought them less than a week ago. It's not that I really have the time to read that much but I couldn't put these books down. I literally put one book down and picked up the next. I'm sad now that I don't have another to pick up until September when the fourth book comes out. I'm pleased with the way they were ...

This would make a wonderful gift!
This is a wonderful book of short essays on topics that really matter to women--family, friendship, faith, forgiveness. The tone of the book is uplifting and encouraging. And the exceptional design of the book would make it a perfect gift for a special woman in your life. It would also make a great starting point for personal devotions, as each essay begins with a scripture and ends with a short ...

She's back with details and specialists' help
First, I thank goodness that Cait Irwin, the author of Conquering the Beast Within, is back alive and well. That book is saving many lives, including mine. Cait Irwin's struggle with depression is recorded mainly by images in Conquering the Beast Within. She could leave the beast of depression abstract like that, but in Monochrome Days, she bravely reentered where her beast sleeps and detailed ...

Great entry into bone health and prevention of Osteoporosis
Dr. Anderson's concise, clear explanation of bone health and the key factors in preventing and treating osteoporosis is a "must read" for all women. 50% of all women will suffer an osteoporosis related fracture in their lifetimes! I am passing this book on to my mother, sister and grandmother. According to Dr. Anderson, we reach our key bone mass in our late 20's and early 30's, after which ...

Beautiful and moving
What a beautiful cover and interior design! In addition, the stories are interesting and evocative. Since the stories are short, this book is good for a woman who doesn't read a lot or who doesn't have time to read. Each story has an accompanying Bible verse and ends with a prayer, so the book can be used as a devotional. When I got my copy, I thought I'd just read the story I submitted, but I ...
