Managing With Microsoft Project 98 3 reviews Lisa Bucki
Prima Publishing, 1998
Best nuts and bolts book on this software by far I understand Mr. Klein's feelings, but the concentration on the software avoided a major trap of many software books and courses, examples that often don't match a reader's actual environment. I went nuts in several mainframe courses when the teacher gave examples that had nothing to do with my work situations. I would encourage Mr. Klein and anyone who is looking to project management ...

Building Integrated Office Applications 1 review Gordon Padwick, Lisa A. Bucki, ...
Que, 1996
A heavily dog-eared and marked up book on my shelf. My thanks to Gordon Padwick. Integrated Office Application lifted the veil from my eyes and I finally understood how to control one MS Office application from another. It has great, practical examples of how to control Excel from Access, Access from Excel, Excel from Word, etc. Learning about CopyFromRecordset (an Excel Range method) was enough to justify purchase of this book! I grok it now.

Teach Yourself VISUALLY Microsoft Office PowerPoint 2007 (Teach Yourself VISUALLY (Tech)) 2 reviews Lisa A. Bucki
Visual, 2006
Another winner in this series For a senior citizen who now uses a computer daily for work, hobbies, and teaching after his first 60 years with no experience whatsoever in using computers, many of the tasks are daunting. Without the background computer experience that the younger people grow up with, each new (to me) application is not at all intuitive, and this book enabled me to put together a series of one hour Power Point ...

PCs 6-In-1 (6-in-1) 2 reviews Lisa Bucki
Que Pub, 1997
Thorough overview of the personal computer. I have used this book as a student and found it to be very easy to understand. The book covers a wide range of PC topics, all in terms a layman can understand. The information seems to be accurate and current. As an instructor, I also recommend the book to my students as an excellent reference book. I would not part with my own copy.

Photoshop 6 for Windows Fast & Easy 5 reviews Lisa A. Bucki
Muska & Lipman/Premier-Trade, 2000
Exposes features . . . Not as helpful a book as i hoped. I am rather new to Photoshop, but expected something at least a bit more in-depth. This book merely exposes features. I was very disappointed at first; but a second look did yield more useful content. This book is full of screen snapshots which take up most of every page -- with text on the remaining bit of space. This book may be more suited for those who have ...

Special Edition Using Lotus Smartsuite 97 (Using ... (Que)) 1 review Elaine J. Marmel, Lisa Bucki, ...
Que Pub, 1997
Good for basics not so hot for advanced tips. Well, I was looking for something with advanced tips on LotusScript, merge, etc. This was not what I found. However, I did find a lot of basic information and I learned a few things about the applications that I don't use very often. This book has saved me quite a bit of time and taught me a few interesting things. It is no reference manual however.

Best reference I've ever owned I'm new to MS Projects and I was able to put this book to use as soon as I opened it. I have been able to find answers to all of my questions because it is very easy to find what I need when I need it. The examples and step by step instructions make it very easy to follow and understand. You also get multiple options for doing everything. I bought it used but I would have gladly paid full price.

Photoshop 6 for Mac Fast & Easy (Fast & Easy) 2 reviews Lisa A. Bucki
Muska & Lipman/Premier-Trade, 2000
This is a very good quick start... I recently acquired Photoshop 6 and Dreamweaver with the intention of building my first commercial web site. I have done some design before, and am very experienced in music editing and other software programs. I initially bought the Classroom in a Book series by Adobe and was having trouble following their lines of thinking. This book, although not as comprehensive as the Adobe, is by far ...

Mac OS X Fast & Easy (Fast & easy) 4 reviews Lisa A. Bucki
Course Technology PTR, 2002
A fantastic newbie book. I purchased this book for my sister. I recently purchased a used iMac for her with OS X installed as the default operating system. She has never used a personal computer before. I read the book before I mailed it to her and found that I do agree with the others opinion that this is not for a person who uses any computer regularly. It is very basic and if the first computer they are introduced to ...

Quick Reference Guide Computer and Internet Dictionary (Quick Reference Guides) 1 review Lisa A. Bucki
DDC Publishing, 1999
Regret I regret that I purchased this book because the industry changes very quickly and you have to be sure when purchasing a computer dictionary that it's going to be at your level of expertise. The book is very small (195 pages) I think it's great for a beginner but not for programmers or Engineers.

SmartSuite® Millennium Edition Bible 2 reviews Lisa A. Bucki, Elaine Marmel, ...
Wiley, 1998
Good tome for the Smartsuite user This book covers a lot of ground for Smartsuite, covering each component of the suite. Easy to read, easy to find the procedure that you're looking for. I would say it's geared more towards the beginner & intermediate users than the advanced users, but there is some good info for the advanced users too. I would have liked to see some more coverage on LotusScript, however.
