Great fun whether you read it in English or Spanish
A delightful way to read a story in English and learn Spanish at the same time (process also works in reverse). Monkey only wants a banana and refuses all other fruit jungle animals offer him. Children and adults can identifly with this single mindedness. All ages will love the simple words, rhymes and delightful pictures.

Fun, colorful, great for new vocabulary.
I teach French to elementary school children and they loved this book. The illustrations are beautiful and colorful. And the story is entertaining enough for them to catch up on new vocabulary. The book itself is excellent quality as well.

A Fun Family Tree Book For All Ages
This book earned every star in the rating scale shown above. I don't recall the last time I had such fun with an "activity" book. This little book consists of only 24 pages, however each page is filled with clear, easy to read text and plenty of space to fill in your family information. Every page is detailed with fun and colorful illustrations which hold the attention of even the youngest of ...

perfect for learning
This is perfect for children (or adults!) learning french. It uses repeatition and variation to teach several different simple sentence structures and useful vocabluary words. Cute pictures. I thought the explainations on how to pronounce the words was great as I could comprehend what it was instructing. Certainly, it gets the beginning pupil close enough!

Excelente libro!
Este es un excelente libro. La historia es apropriada para niņos de mas de 3 o 4 aņos. Toca el tema de la muerte (del pez), el cual no es muy comun en libros de niņos, asi que se presta para tener tan importante conversacion con su hijo/hija. La carpeta dura es de excelente calidad.

Great book! A great learning tool for parents and kids! My son LOVES it!
Wow, this book is a real hit with my son. Great illustrations, fun characters with catchy names, the topic, illustrations and story are cute and popular with kids. For the parents, each page is written in both English and French in useful phrases you can use every day. I read it twice in English and now read it in French and he still loves it and wants me to read it again. The picture ...

C'est magnifique!
My 6 year old was accepted into a French immersion kindergarten class, and these books have been extremely helpful. They reinforce the words he is learning in class and are easy for him to read in French or English, which allows him to boost his reading skills at the same time. The fact that it is in both languages helps me understand what he is reading, too.

E molto divertente!
We had an informal Italian class for a small group of children in my home this past summer. This book provided hours of fun and games for the kids. It had great ideas to keep the children interested as they traded an afternoon at the local pool for an afternoon learning a foreign language. The price is a bargain and it gave me lots of great ideas. The games reinforce the basics and we'll be ...

Get Dressed Robbie
I am passionate that my children will begin foreign language develoment early. I have been spending 1/2 hour per week day having them do a French activity (cd rom, music, videos) for the past year. My 7-year-old is losing interest but became motivated when she was introduced to Get Dressed Robbie. She is easily able to read the English to her 2-year-old brother and is working on the French. My ...

Excellent French/English letters for kids
I teach French to kids age 6 - 14. This is a charming book of letters between a French-speaking student and an English-speaking pen pal. The letters are relatively simple, yet not boring and would be excellent examples of first letters to a French-speaking pen pal for kids or adults with elementary French skills. The letters could be read to younger children but are probably best for kids 8 ...

This delightful new children's activity book is great for rainy days--and just as good for classroom art projects in elementary grades. It's filled with how-to instructions and features many imaginative stencils kids can trace with lead pencils, felt markers, or colored pencils. They can create pictures, posters and more.

Great Book For Teaching Toddlers
I highly recommend this book to anyone who would like to teach French to a young child. The storyline could easily hold up as a regular storybook and the illustrations are great. I do find that the pronunciation guide would be a bit difficult for a non-French speaker to use and recommend this only if you have a bit of French yourself or access to someone who can help with pronunciation.

French for older toddlers
This book, like the others, is well-written, and it's no secret that I'm a fan. This particular book is more appropriate for older toddlers who can appreciate more of the intangible words; what I mean is that rather than a slew of nouns and simple adjectives, there are more words that are intangibles, such as laughing/riant, which are harder to communicate through the book's format -- what's a ...

A hidden surprise
I've been reading books in this series to my son, who was less than 18 months old when I started. The series overall is phenomenal in terms of structure, presentation, depth of storyline, and vocabulary. [Spoiler]However, for those who just want to order some more books, this one has a hidden surprise (in fairness, it is identified in the description): the goldfish dies. If your child is at an ...

A great book to teach some basic Spanish vocabulary
As a Spanish teacher in an elementary school, I use this book to help teach describing words. The children love how the elephant and giraffe make silly changes to their appearance; it holds their interest in the story and helps them learn the material. At the end of the story they clearly recognize the lesson: you don't need to change who you are because friends like you just the way you are!

More educational than fun
This 16-page workbook is a good addition to a foreign-language library. Some children seem to engage in learning more if they have something to do, rather than just listen and recite. There are a couple cut-and-paste activities, a maze, dot-to-dot, crossword puzzle, picture puzzles, punch-out characters with clothes and one origami-type toy. For intriguing puzzles, humor and an all-around ...
