Collected classics
Louisa May Alcott is best known for her classic novel "Little Women," an enchanting look at growing up. But the story of Jo March didn't stop when she went to Plumfields. This collection includes not just "Little Women," but also its two sequels. "Little Women" introduces us to the four March sisters: pretty Meg, shy Beth, aspiring artist Amy, and tomboyish Jo. In the middle of the Civil ...

ABSOLUTELY LOVE IT!!
I absolutely love this book. I have never been one to journal my thoughts, but this book makes it so easy. I love how the devotion stories lead right into the questions that you answer. At first I didn't write too much, but the more days I read it, the more I wrote. The questions really get you to thinking deeper than you would just reading the Bible verses and the stories. It has totally changed ...

Louisa by Louisa
It's a difficult task to review a diary or journal, as these materials were rarely meant for public consumption. Louisa May Alcott's personal "scribblings" reveal much about her motivations, professional and personal choices, and beliefs. What becomes clear is that she wrote not only as an outlet for her imagination and creativity, but to keep body, soul, and family together. Her father, Amos ...

Little Women Radio Theatre
Beyond our expectations!!! This presentation by Focus on the Family is beyond praise. Each character is excellently cast, the sound effects superb, and the story, of course, heartwarming. The radio theatre stories by Focus on the Family cause vivid mental pictures as you listen - almost as if you're watching a video of the book.

An overlooked winner...
This is a wonderful tale of a young girl overcoming depression, lonliness and the idiotic societal restrictions of the age. A kind, forward-thinking uncle takes Rose under his wing after the death of her parents. Despite protesting the strange and shocking lifestyle changes she's asked to make, she finds she's developing into a healthy and happy young lady. She is the sole female child in the ...

Characters hardly "Little Women"
In this collection of four short stories, Louisa May Alcott reveals herself as a racy, infinately readable author. Each story features strong women, with sharp tongues and sharper wits. Every plot has an unexpected twist, and a decidedly dark touch of irony. If you couldn't read Little Women because of its flowery prose, here is a second chance to aquaint yourself with an incredible American ...

Marvelous, wholesome reading
I read Garland for Girls last summer for the first time, once again enjoying another one of LMA's books! Each chapter is a different story, filled with good old-fashioned piety and lovely story lines so absent from modern books for girls. As a young adult, as well as a teacher and mentor of young girls, I highly recommend LMA's Garland for Girls.

You MUST read this book!
Little Woman is a book that everyone must read. I really love the characters and everything about it! My favorite character is Jo, who seems a lot like me because she loves books and isn't a really girlie girl. I also like Beth because she is so nice. I really recommend reading this book. A beautifully illustrated compilation of fables.
This discovery of unpublished fables by Louisa May Alcott should be read by children during their important impressionable years. The illustrations are beautiful and complimentary to the text. While classics of Louisa May Alcott, Little Women and Little Men, are for the early teens, these fables for the preteens tease the imagination in a magical way. This sort of alternative to the upbringing ...

Common sense
When Louisa May Alcott was a little girl, her father moved the family to live in an experimental commune in the orchard town of Harvard, Massachusetts. The idea was that inhabitants would live on unleavened bread and apples, abstain from sex, and expound on the universe. The experiment lasted only from July to December, when it predictably fell apart. In adulthood, Louisa trained a comic eye ...

Mujercitas is a good book for family and friends to enjoy!
Mujercitas really made me wonder about the opportunity we all have to live a life full of joy. Made me also wonder how come most of us do not apprecite and value this opportunity given. With this book I have decided that I will, even if others don't, that's up to them. In addition, made me think about the family I once had and with a little more forgiveness, It could return to me.
