The Tokaido Road
If the person who thinks I lifted scenes from Oliver Statler's Japanese Inn had read more than two books on the subject--Statler's and mine--- she would have realized that he and I probably used many of the same sources in our research. Since both our books are fiction neither of us included a complete bibliography. However, in the Author's Notes I did list several of the 188 sources I consulted ...

Another fine Native American novel
Ms. Robson's meticulous research and attention to historical accuracy is again evident in this excellent and heartbreaking story of the Native American people. If you haven't read "Walk in My Soul" or "Ride the Wind" - what are you waiting for? Once you've read one of Ms. Robson's novels you'll want to collect them all.

Light A Distant Fire
Lucia St Clair Robson

Ballantine Books, 1988

Osceola had no illusions that the struggle would be an easy one. But after years of humbly acquiescing to the white men's demands, he was ready to fight no matter what the cost. The young men would have the chance to earn war honors. Their women would have reason to be proud of them again. Walk In My Soul
This was an excellent book, I read years ago. One that changed my life. Who Tiana Rogers was and the way she is portrayed in the book, gave me a role model to follow, in a time when I really needed one. This is a book that touched my soul, and I highly recommend it to anyone who's attention it called. It's a beatiful story and one that you'll never forget.

From an AP English student
After reading books like Heart of Darkness, and Benito Cereno, Shadow Patriots was happily read. I loved the character Lizzie, her strength and personality was humerous. I also enjoyed how this book was fictional, yet didn't stretch the truth very far.

Fearless: A Novel of Sarah Bowman10 reviews
Lucia St Clair Robson

Ballantine Books, 1999

History Comes Alive
Robson is one of the very best at characterization. She not only brings Sarah Bowman to vivid life but Jake the mule becomes a major character never to be forgotten. The mirages shimmered on the pages of the book and transformed my cool living room into the heated, dry parched desert that Sarah struggled through. In each of her books Robson has the unsual dexterity of changing her writing style ...

History becomes alive
Mary's Land brings the old pages of history to life and makes the people live and breathe - Another of Lucia St. Clair Robson's "can't put down books" - and as soon as I've finished I want more - her facts are always correct and she has a wonderful feel for putting them into words that create pictures in the soul.
