Arthur's Eyes: An Arthur Adventure (Arthur Adventure Series)12 reviews
Marc Brown

Little, Brown Young Readers, 1986

New Glasses
I read Arthur's Eyes. I think you should read this book because there is a funny surprise in the middle of the book. In this book, Arthur gets glasses. My favorite part is when he tries on glasses. This part was funny because some of the glasses looked funny on Arthur. I liked this book.

Read-Aloud Rhymes for the Very Young19 reviews

Knopf Books for Young Readers, 1986

Fun to Read
Although my almost three year old daughter doesn't request this book, when I bring it out she invariably ends up sitting in my lap, pointing at the illustrations, telling me which poem to read next and has begun to finish the rhymes for me as I read . For me, it has been an enjoyable book to read aloud and it is nice to see her so involved in poetry.

D.W.'s Guide to Preschool (Arthur Adventures)11 reviews
Marc Brown

Little, Brown Young Readers, 2006

Perfect Book
This is the best book about preschool that I have read. It covers pretty much everything that happens at preschool, starting at the drop-off and ending at pick-up. It helped the transition go very smoothly for my son. It is one of his favorite books!

How to Be a Friend: A Guide to Making Friends and Keeping Them (Dino Life Guides for Families)17 reviews
Laurie Krasny Brown

Little, Brown Young Readers, 2001

Fun and a great teaching tool
How to be a friend is such a nice book. It is like an instruction manual for kids who have difficulties making friends. It shows what is acceptable and what others find attractive in a friend. It tells directly what is annoying or inappropriate. I read this to my entire class, which consists of general education students and children on the autism spectrum (Asberger). I used it early in the ...

What's the Big Secret?: Talking about Sex with Girls and Boys24 reviews
Laurie Krasny Brown

Little, Brown Young Readers, 2000

Great Book!
We purchased this book to read with our 10 1/2 year old. It's a very age appropriate book and a great introduction to the "birds and the bees". It gives just enough information without being overwhelming for little minds and it helps to open the door to communication with your kids abut sex. We highly recommend this book.

Emergency!: True Stories From The Nation's ERs (Emergency!)29 reviews
Marc Brown

St. Martin's Paperbacks, 1997

Make It So
Mark Brown has collected ER stories from folks around the country. During my first ER clinical I pulled the legs apart on a woman with a broken hip so that a catheter might be inserted, I listened to the ER head med complain that it was Saturday morning and you did not start the day with an MI, I listened to the PA joke about a patient with "fibro-myassia", and I watched the chief doc stonewall a ...

When Dinosaurs Die: A Guide to Understanding Death (Dino Life Guides for Families)25 reviews
Laurie Krasny Brown

Little, Brown Young Readers, 1998

Excellent resource
I want to put in a strong vote of confidence for this book, even though some parents have found it too much, too soon. My dad died when my oldest daughter was not quite three; my mom, when she was not quite four. This book was an enormous help in explaining to her what had happened, putting it in terms that were both straightforward and manageable. Kids want to know the facts, because the ...

Marc Brown

Little, Brown Young Readers, 1999

Arthur Breaks the Computer
Arthur loves to play his computer game, but his mom has to work. He plays on the computer even though his mom told him not to. Arthur said, "Stop!" before his mom turned the game off. I thought this was a good book, and I'd like for everybody to read it!

Arthur Meets the President: An Arthur Adventure (Arthur Adventure Series)4 reviews
Marc Brown

Little, Brown Young Readers, 1992

Everyone loves Arthur
I am a 1st grade teacher. My class and I always enjoy finding out about Arthur and his friends in the books written by Marc Brown. I especially like Arthur Meets the President. I use this book during the month of February as a literature connection to a theme study of presidents. Not only does this title lend itself to my curriculum but it also has a wonderful storyline dealing with a ...

Marc Brown

Random House Books for Young Readers, 1996

Truly Something Sibling Would Do!
In this tale Arthur tells his sister if she can read ten words he will buy her ice cream. Ah! A challenge, what sibling could resist, certainly not D.W. They set off to town and D.W. wins the bet to the surprise of Author; and has a little fun at the end of the story with her brother. Just a cute little tale about the fun of words and reading, and the joy of sharing with your brother or ...

Arthur's Family Vacation: An Arthur Adventure (Arthur Adventure Series)2 reviews
Marc Brown

Little, Brown Young Readers, 1995

We Liked This Story
This story is about Arthur going on vacation with his family. Arthur didn't really want to go away with his family. He wanted to be with his best friend. At the end of the story, Arthur really does have fun and comes back to show his friend all the pictures. We liked this story because Arthur did a lot of fun things with his family.

D.W. the Picky Eater9 reviews
Marc Brown

Little, Brown Young Readers, 1997

For the picky eater
D.W. The Picky Eater is as funny as a parent playing a prank on a kid. First this book is funny because D.W. won't eat anything that stares at her or has eyes. Secondly D.W. won't eat spaghetti with the tomato sauce on it she will only eat it plain without the parsley. In a picture D.W is feeding her seafood surprise to her dog. The last reason you should read this book to your child is it will ...

Arthur's Tooth (Arthur Adventure Series)3 reviews
Marc Brown

Little, Brown Young Readers, 1986

Losing A Tooth
Another great book from the Arthur series. The book is about Arthur, the last student in the class to lose his first baby tooth. Some of the other students in the class make fun of Arthur, because he still has all his baby teeth. Other students try to help Arthur's tooth fall out, but nothing works. Finally an accident causes Arthur to lose his tooth. This book teaches children to be ...

Arthur's TV Trouble (An Arthur Adventure)3 reviews
Marc Brown

Little, Brown Young Readers, 1997

Let the Aardvark beware
In this, another great book by Marc Brown, children can learn vicariously through Arthur about money management, and specifically, how hard it is to earn money and how easily it is lost. These, ( the Arthur and D.W. Books), are great books, and more up to date than most children's books.

Good mystery
I really liked this book because I didn't know what was going to happen until the end. I really thought that Arthur was in trouble. It's a good mystery and you have to read it to find out what it's about. I'm not going to tell you.
