Bunkers Pits & Other Hazards
"Who would guess that those gloomy bunkers were built to celebrate the pleasure of the senses?" (Lord Esher) Rarely will golfers agree on what is a good hazard and what is a bad one, except that it is a good one if ones opponent is in it, and it is a bad one if it is oneself. And that tends to be as erudite as it becomes when a hazard is being debated. Bunkers Pits & Other Hazards provides ...

What a relief!
This book is an outstanding, balanced, funny and abundantly helpful tool for parents wanting to facilitate healthy, open conversations about sex and sexuality with their kids. As a single mother to a seven and a half year old son, I am so relieved to have the tools to start and hopefully continue a dialogue with my son as he approaches puberty and grows into a young adult. Whatever your values ...

Reviews Misleading
Despite what some other reviewers said, I actually really enjoyed this book. It has allot of valuable material for folks making the jump from beginner topics to more advanced topics. It seems that allot of folks expect the book to be all about JDK 5 when the title clearly says "PROFESSIONAL JAVA" (JDK 5 edition).

Correct Address Positions Lead to Better Golf
This is a different kind of instructional book on golf. Instead of focusing on mechanics and positions in the swing, the author keys on six angles vital to effective ball striking. Five are established in addressing the ball. All are clearly defined and illustrated. The book also contains some excellent drills to help the reader get into better positions at address. There are chapters on the ...

A fine edition of a great American Voice.
Robert Frost is a unique American voice that many people love. A few reject him, but the majority of those whom he was writing for still love and admire his poetry. His fans always have favorites and can quote lines and whole poems from memory. When a poet gets into people's memories and hearts it is not a sure sign of greatness, but it is a good indicator of something special. In some ways ...

Excellent work -- the new standard; well illustrated.
Another great Roadside Geology work, this time better than most. Who would have thought that Indiana geology could come alive like this? The book is so well illustrated with maps, photographs and drawings that it is fun just to flip through. At the same time, there is enough science here (though well written for the layman) that it provides an intelligent, in-depth treatment of the subject. ...

You'll love this book.
Blast Off! is a fun and fascinating read for any fan of science fiction, space toys, or comic books. It's a beautiful coffee table-sized book with sexy images of robots, ray guns, and toys of all types that make you feel nostalgic even if you don't remember these toys from the first time around. This book offers a history of "in the know" type stories about specific toys and the personalities who ...

Mr. Richardson, keep your hands off Mark Twain's writing!
This is an author's adaptation of some of Mark Twain's storytelling about Tom Sawyer. Of course, the magic of Mark Twain's writing is that his writing is wonderful, joyful, engaging, elegant, entertaining, creative, artful, and nuanced. The writing in this book is terrible, and it makes the story pitiful. Caution: a child that reads this book may dislike "Mark Twain" for the rest of his/her ...

Sweet, well-written. Insightful
Saw the author speak at his first book event last night, purchased the book there, and stayed up all night reading it. Like many, I know now, I couldn't get through Zen and the Art.. during my first read as a teenager. I also didn't know the author was from St. Paul (where I live). This book gives great insight into Pirsig, but also into Richardson. It's so well written and, by it's very ...

I recommend this book to anybody who's interested in Symbian development. It's a very thorough material, you can not only begin to deal with EPOC with the help of this book, but get useful help when you're a professional. Though some information is a little bit outdated, it's still the best book I've ever read about Symbian OS.
