Can any illustrator ever reach this level again?
Just today my "Big Book" version of this classic fell out of the box and onto the carpet for my daughters and myself to re-read. It's summer and I'm a teacher planning the upcoming first grade year for a class in Oxnard CA coming to me in a "Sheltered Immersion" program. This book I have traditionally used at year's start as we share and make pictures of our homes and families embarking on ...

A must for your 4+ year old - fantastic story/illustrations!
I just read this book to my son's 1st grade class - they were captivated - and there was much audience participation! They loved the story and my son said that for the rest of the day everyone in the class wanted to read it over and over again! This is a fabulous book and a must read for you and your children!

Reading has NEVER been this much fun!
Since first reading "The Seven Silly Eaters" about a year ago, I have become a Mary Ann Hoberman addict, and am thrilled to have recently added "The Llama Who Had No Pajama" to my growing collection. She is a master of silliness, and you and your children will laugh with delight at the poems in this collection. I bought my first copy for my first grade classroom, and have since bought a second ...

The Seven Silly Eaters
My daughter and I love this rhyming book. We bought an extra copy for her friend's birthday. It is my favorite book to read to her. I bought it when she was 4. She still loves it at 7.

a new favorite
I really love this sweet and charming story-- with 3 children that love books, I have become both a fan and avid collector of children's literature. My 5 year old son is particularly drawn to a rhyming story, and loves to listen to this one. We have read it so often in the last few weeks that he can recite many of the lines along with me. There is a particularly catchy cadence to the verse, and ...

This one will be a classic in your child's library.
This book is one of my sons favorites. (17 months) The illustrations are great and the authors make a cute little day-long adventure for the eensy weensy spider. The book is actually pretty long so it works well for a bedtime story. I would also suggest "The Lady with the Alligator Purse" and "Miss Mary Mack" by the same two authors. All three of these books are illustrated from a unique ...

Bedtime Favorite
My 2 1/2 year old daughter is in love with this hillarous illustrated book. We checked it out from the library and it has become her favorite. We read it two times before nap and again two times before bed. I even catch her reading to herself!I also like it because at the end of the book there are questions and ideas that focus on different areas such as rhyming. I know we will be purchasing this ...

a wonderful book
I love this book. When I leave it out on the shelf in the classroom, the kids actually ask to read it. They love reading to each other. Perfect for bilinguals or kids just starting out. My own kids and I can still recite parts of it from memory ("I found a dime! You found a dime? I found a dime at dinnertime!") The illustrations are adorable and are entertaining all on their own. Buy it and ...

You Read to Me, I'll Read to You short stories
This is a light book that contains short stories. The stories are cute and quirky, fun to read. Our 7 year old collects books and this one is one of her many favorites. We bought this book for a gift. We have the larger version. We take turns reading together, I read a verse and she reads one. Our daughter started reading before age 5 and I know it's because we read to her every day and just ...

A humorous and sensitive book
Genuine characters juggle their big sisters, step-mothers, and cheek- pinching aunts in this collection of family-centered poems. While Fathers, Mothers, Sisters, Brothers entertains young readers with situational humor and sprightly rhyme, selections such as "Half-Whole-Step" and "When Annie Was Adopted" deviate from its lighthearted verse to celebrate and explore diversity: "I am a ...

One of the first books my 2 year old daughter "read"
One day I was changing my then 20 month old's diaper, and she started signing "Mary had a little lamb..." - I was shocked! It took her a while to start talking, and I think the singing really helped. She regularly wants us to sing-read this book to her, knows if we miss a page or a verse, and loves the part where the lamb says "BAAAAAA". She loves other books in this series, too (Skip to My ...

Wonderful children's book
This book, based on the folk song, is delightful. It is imaginatively, whimsically, and humorously illustrated. There is an "Old Lady" rag doll that comes with all the creatures she swallows and can be placed in her mouth as the book is read. I bought both to give to a child as a gift.

Just Plain Fun
We got this book for our 3yo while he was hospitalized and have taken turns singing it and it's just plain fun. The art is cute, the wording is easily singable and funny and the book as a whole is entertaining. We'll be reading this one a lot and looking for the others in the series!

Again, Mommy!
My son received this book as a gift when he was a few months old. Since then (four years ago), I have given this book as a gift to everyone I know when their child is born. This book is perfect at bedtime, naptime, cuddle time, any time. My son still asks for it at story time and now my younger son is enjoying it, too. The book may seem long at first, but you will enjoy reading this book to ...

Lovely!
I could tell this would be a great book by the first page! The story is told in rhyme, which always makes it more fun to read to my 3 year old. I love the message of the book - that nature doesn't belong to anybody, and that every little creature has a purpose. It is one of the nicest children's books I've found.

Lovely story to introduce the concept of an overnight away from Mom and Dad.
This book recently helped us prior to our daughter's first overnight away from us. It's a sweet, simple story that is beautifully illustrated, too. The little girl goes to her grandparent's house for an overnight. She has a nice time, but gets worried at bedtime. Grandma reassures her with a lovely story about a quilt passed down through the generations. I love the warm relationship it depicts ...

Great
I have cassette tape players for all of my grandchildren - after we've read a book, the children can choose the cassette they want to listen to, put it in and take it out without worries about scratching. These tapes are good.

Granddaughter's Favorite
The Eensy Weensy Spider is my granddaughter's favorite book. It has cute amusing new verses to the old tune and great illustrations with lots of details. The sing along tape is very well done with a great voice and lots of expression.
