The Legendary Life and Fables of Aesop 3 reviews
Mayant Press, 2006
a must for every school library Most of us know the fables of Aesop - so why is it worthwhile to have yet another compilation of his fables?
There is few pieces of literature, which have such a wide spanning influence on the world literature as Aesop's fables. A reflection of these original works should always be welcome.
Mayvis Anthony manages to put the fables into the context of Aesop's life, which is narrated ...

Glitter Girl and the Crazy Cheese 4 reviews Frank Hollon, Mary Grace, ...
MacAdam/Cage, 2006
Excellent book for small children! We bought Glitter Girl and the Crazy Cheese last week, and our kids loved it. The story is written as a long poem, and it's quite funny following the brief adventure of Glitter Girl chasing a piece of sliced cheese (which was supposed to be her lunch) across town.
The illustrations are very good, too. I highly recommend Glitter Girl and The Crazy Cheese. It's a great book for small children.

Intricate Beauty This book is a pictorial feast for the eyes. The folk art of Sailors' Valentines has been captured in all its historical beauty. The intricate detail of each of the pictured works is simply amazing, and as an artist and craftsperson, I truly appreciate the skill and beautiful symmetry as documented in this book. Little Clown Car's Big Day (Squeak-and-Go) 1 review
Reader's Digest Association, 1996
Little Clown Car's Big Day Your kids will enjoy this interactive book that allows the listener to actively 'toot' Little Clown Car's horn as they squeeze the plastic car in the middle of each page. The book is entertaining to both reader and encourages participation by requiring the listener to follow each word until they are required to 'toot' (squeeze) each time they see a certain clown-car symbol. Your kids will ...

Journey to Jesus: A Four-In-One Story 1 review Mary Hollingsworth
Baker Pub Group, 1993
Cute illustrations, nice to read to toddlers This book is not your typical Bible story book. It gives four stories in one book but not in your typical way. Some pages have four rectangles and each one has a different story, so you can read all four at once, or read one and turn the page to follow that particular story. Sometimes, every story has the same thing happen, so there is a big page that you read--example, when the animals or ...

Teacups full of Treasures: Let the Names of God Be Your Source of Strength (Heirloom Promises) 1 review Mary Grace Birkhead
Thomas Nelson, 2006
Yea for Teacups Full of Treasures! I love books that celebrate the Names of God. There is nothing like studying them and understanding their power. As Mary Grace Birkhead puts it in the book's introduction, "Learning His attributes and meditating on their meaning allows us to know him more intimately." Each page of this book contains a different Name of God with a scripture and encouraging passage from the author. Next to that ...

Winners and Losers at the Bridge Table 1 review Bobby Goldman
Devyn Pr, 1994
Humor... One page has a joke like this on it: A Winner always draws trump as quickly as possible unless he has a specific good reason not too; A Loser will refrain from drawing trump whenever it was wrong to do so on the last hand he played. On opposite side is the cartoon to go along with it. I don't know if it's just me or what but all the pictures of the players in cartoons look like monkeys...or ...

MacMillan Publishing Company., 1984
Wow!!! A must have for all chefs I had seen this book at a friends business and thought it was good. Since I have ordered and received it I have had the chance to really review the contents and find it one book that I can use daily. The CD rom is also fantastic in the number of recipes it contains. One nice feature is that you can size the recipes to what you need. Another great plus. Well worth the money. Tom Elliott, CEC

Pearls from Heaven: Your Heavenly Father's Words of Love and Comfort (Heirloom Promises) 1 review Mary Grace Birkhead
Thomas Nelson, 2006
This book is beautiful in every way! This book has inspired me that the promises of God are, in fact, pearls from heaven. As Mary Grace Birkhead points out in the book's introduction, "Pearls become more lusterous and colorful the longer they are worn...they richen with age...the closer you wear them and the longer you hold them the more beauty they will reveal". The passages in this book have inspired me to hold God's promises ...
