Powerful and Compelling
This book might not be for everybody, but if you like good writing, a sense of place, compelling characters, and a tale well-told, check it out! Mary Logue writes with the voice of a poet and the intensity of one who has "been there." Five stars is not enough. Highly recommended!

Bone Harvest: A Claire Watkins Mystery (Claire Watkins Mysteries)3 reviews
Mary Logue

Fawcett, 2005

A Suspense Novel with a Heart
I love suspense novels, so when I came upon the title Bone Harvest I couldn't resist! I thought the title might be a bit overplayed and I might end up a little disappointed. I can definitely say I was not disappointed at all! It was creepy, suspenseful, kept a good pace, had great characters - and most of all a very satisfying conclusion! I will warn people - this is NOT a horror novel. If you ...

Brilliance Audio on MP3-CD, 2004

Chilling and sad
Bone Harvest is the fourth entry in the Claire Watkins series, and is the first one that I have read-but I am looking for the first three books now! The setting for Bone Harvest is a small Wisconsin farm town that does not have, or usually need, many law enforcement resources. However, fifty years ago, a brutal mass murder in an isolated farmhouse eliminated an entire family and the police ...

Full house - Full of great stories!
I was lucky enough to get the ARC of this book and wanted to come and review it for others who are considering purchasing it. The Bloodwater Mysteries: Snatched (Bloodwater Mysteries)3 reviews
Pete Hautman, Mary Logue

Putnam Juvenile, 2006

A great read for reluctant readers
Pete Hautman has long been one of my favorite authors. I have since discovered Mary Logue and have become a fan of her exquisite Claire Watkins mysteries. Each author writes compelling fiction filled with sympathetic and sometimes off-beat characters. I was pleased to hear they had teamed up to write a new mystery series for younger readers. As a former middle/high school teacher, I have ...

Dancing with an Alien12 reviews
Mary Logue

HarperTeen, 2000

For everyone, regardless of age, who likes Love, or Space, or Both
Entertaining, tender tale, reminiscent of the 80s movie STARMAN, marrying sci fi space fantasy with young love. Kind of wish the ending was a bit different. This beautiful story also reminds me of another sci-fi love book, SUMMER OF THE GREEN STAR, from '81, which I also enjoyed, but the mood of this story is darker. Again, five (green?) stars
