Excellent Book for a Wonderful CMS
Despite using Textpattern (TXP) since I started my own website I knew there was still a lot for me to learn and also a few things that could be improved with the way I setup my site. Needless to say when I got wind of this book there was no doubt in my mind that it would help me to be a better TXP user. The book is well-written and takes you through every aspect of TXP. Everything and I mean ...

wow
The book, Pigs Might Fly was an awsome book. The book showed a lot of perserverence, curiosity, pride, and initiative. My favorite part is when Daggie, the pig, tries to fly, he uncovers a new talent of his. In this book Daggie is a good, kind-hearted pig. He shows a lot of perserverence, curage, initiative, and curiousity. I think you should read this book if you like fun and adventure.

A book for all ages...
Frankenstein is a book for all ages. Frankenstein has shown versatility throughout its life. This book has been adapted by its readers to represent all eras. It offers the reader a look not only into the past but also to the near future. With such things as the Human Gnome project in mid-flourish Frankenstein has yet again opened the eyes of its readers. The horror is not in the story but is ...

Loss of innocence
No one locked their doors. Few mothers drove cars. Kids walked to school, church, and the neighborhood grocery, and played under street lights at dusk. On the surface, Mary-Ann Tirone Smith's 1950's childhood was idyllic. But scratch that surface, and it quickly becomes apparent that nothing could be further from the truth. First, there was her remote mother, always on the verge of the then ...

This book saved me:-)
As much as I love my psych text book, I found this book to be very helpful as a Cliff Notes-type supplement. It is concise and easy to read, and the CD that goes along with it works in my Mac and is totally awesome! You can go through pre and post test questions on line, just like within the chapters, as well as check out some NCLEX stuff. All of this was very helpful for exams and just plain ...

Always the deck I choose
I love this deck. I learned how to read on the Rider Waite deck, and when I discovered the Universal Waite, I was amazed at the difference. All of the colors and details are so much more enhanced with this deck. I have several decks, but really use this one over and over again. It's a classic. I love what the illustrated did to the colors and fleshing out the details, especially of peoples ...

Outstanding Professional Development Resource
Teachers College Press has just published a book from the QUASAR Project, intended to help people implement staff development. I've been reading it this week, and it's just about the most useful resource I can imagine in planning on-going staff development to help teachers implement mathematics programs designed around the NCTM standards. (At the high school level, this includes curricula like ...

Oldie but goodie......
When Mary Riley Smith's THE FRONT GARDEN was published in 1991, it became an instant hit with me. Other writers have jumped into the subject since then, but Riley's book retains the freshness of relatively new and creative original ideas. I began my front garden over 20 years ago, when we moved into a seven-year old house here in Arlington that sat back from the street on a narrow lot. The ...

Opened my eyes...
I am at high risk for skin cancer being pale skinned, light eyed, blonde and living in San Diego. I never knew it was better for me to use sunblock and stay out of the sun instead of trying to go for a base tan, especially in a tanner. Tans only have a suncreen of SPF 5, come to find out. And even people with naturally dark skin need to wear sunblock because they can get skin cancer too, often in ...

Don't judge a book by its cover...
I am the author of this book. I lost my beloved mother and my aunt and another relative to Alzheimer's, so in addition to being an experienced medical writer, I have had heart-wrenching personal experience with this devastating disease. I argued about the title when I was asked to write this book, but eventually the folks at Wiley convinced me that since the Dummies brand is so ubiquitous that ...

Too far?
When the rhetoric of your own camp makes you question where they get their information, it may mean they've gone too far. Mary Lee Smith presents, and the re-presents her case in this book. It is repetitive, slanted, but still has some important things to say. It will change the way you look at the educational political arena. It is NOT light reading.

In this book, a pig was a prize to be won at a fair in sheep country. Mr. Hogget played the game for the pig. Mr. Hogget told his wife that he played the game for the pig. Mrs. Hogget said I'd like a pig. We can feed him scraps and eat him for Christmas dinner. Fly was training her four puppies when she saw the pig that Mr. Hogget won named Babe.
